DMX Released From Jail 'It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel,' rapper's manager says in a statement announcing the release.

It took a week longer than he anticipated, thanks to some jailhouse violations, but DMX was released from an Arizona state jail in Yuma on Tuesday morning (July 19) after serving nearly eight months of a one-year sentence for probation violations.

A spokesperson for the rapper (born Earl Simmons) confirmed his release to MTV News and hinted that the end of X's latest stint behind bars will hopefully mark a new beginning for the troubled MC.

"Earl has so much more to offer the world," manager Nakia Walker said in a statement announcing X's release. "His latest project has been on hold for so long! It is now time for X to redefine the world of Hip-Hop with his highly anticipated album of inspirational, painful & street accredited rhymes. It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel."

"I spoke to my daughter, I just got off the phone with my wife," DMX told AllHipHop.com following his release. "I'm going to go see my daughter while the sun is up, then I'm going to be in the studio, man."

Though the Yonkers, New York, native's music career has been stalled out for much of the past eight years due to legal and drug issues, he has signed a label deal with UMMG (United Music & Media Group), and Walker has promised "extraordinary things happening from rapper DMX over the next couple months that include collaborations with major names in the music industry."

DMX was slated for release last week after serving seven months of his one-year sentence — including credit for 100 days behind bars while awaiting trial — but was held over for an extra week due to several minor infractions, including refusal to submit to a drug test and smoking in unauthorized areas.

The 'Best Rapper Alive' speaks for Obour and gave us five reasons why Obour should chair the MUSIGA seat.

He is an experienced musician- 12 yrs of active musicianship with 6award winning albums, working closely with musicians across all the genres(collaborating with gospel(Noble Nketiah) l, hip life(uncountable), highlife(A. B. Crentsil), reggae(Shahsha Marley, Rocky Dawuni) section men(Ackah Blay, Dela Botri, etc) choral music, popular music the list goes on.

He has produced other musicians, organized major events and has contributed in so many ways to the development of the music industry. Toured all over Ghana and the world with Ghana music.

A musician with this experience is fit to be the leader of MUSIGA
2. He is a visionary- Obour since his birth into the music industry has not ceased to amaze all industry players with the beautiful ideas and effective ways he implements them to fruition.

This can be seen in the numerous first of its kind projects he has executed. He was the first Ghanaian musician to win the World Bank Music for Development Award and the first hiplife musician to be presented with the GRAND MEDAL state honour for Music by the President of the Republic of Ghana. These two awards were in recognition of his efforts at using music to impact on National Development. Till date, his Tour Obour.Com remains among the top success stories of the music industry in Ghana.

3. He is Corporate- Obour understands this modern corporate world and will be the best person to represent the interests of musicians. He is among the few musicians who runs his own office and owns and manages other businesses aside music.

His noble image coupled with his university education makes him a befitting new face for the Musicians Union. He is already doing business with corporate Ghana and the government.

Due to his reliability, databank Foundation invested a $60,000 scholarship package to train him in leadership with the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN) in USA. The British council, an international organization appointed him as a Good will Ambassador for Climate Change in Africa.

4. He is Young and Abreast with time - Obour's middle age make him the best person to close the gap between the old and younger musicians. MUSIGA under Obour will attract more young musicians who form more than 80% of musicians in Ghana.

5. He has Service Record - His long service to mother Ghana through his music in different ways shows his preparedness to serve. He has single handedly contributed so much to the respect accorded to musicians today through his road safety and Education Campaigns. He has also done service to the musicians union of Ghana where currently he resides as the national youth organizer.

Considering the above factors, I consider Obour as the best candidate for the position of President of MUSIGA. I encourage all delegates who will be voting to vote Obour for a new MUSIGA. A MUSIGA which will be attractive to all musicians and lucrative to practioners.

Beyonce Fired Dad Amid Accusations of Theft, Legal Documents Show

Beyonce's belief that her father Matthew Knowles stole money from her led to his being fired as her manager, according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.

The pop singer terminated Mathew Knowles -- who launched her career at a young age -- in March. At the time, she explained: "I've only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life, and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."

Mathew Knowles said at the time that the parting was a mutual decision, claiming he was choosing to focus more on the gospel artists he represents.

But now, in legal papers he recently filed, Mathew Knowles claims that Live Nation Entertainment made false claims about him to his daughter in the hopes of coming aboard her 2011 world tour.

Live Nation told the singer that he "had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to," according to the legal documents.

Supporting those claims was Beyonce's law firm, who conducted an audit that concluded Mathew Knowles had stolen money, but he denies the accusations and is asking a judge to take depositions from several Live Nation employees to determine how they arrived at their conclusions.

Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Split Couple have been married since 2004 and have 3-year-old twins together.

After seven years of what appeared to be wedded bliss, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have called it quits.

"We have decided to end our marriage," Lopez and Anthony revealed to People magazine via a joint statement. "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.

"It is a painful time for all involved," the statement continued, "and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

This news likely comes as a shock to their fans, as the seemingly happy couple were seen together frequently during the most recent season of "American Idol," on which Lopez served as a judge and Anthony appeared in the audience several times and as a mentor to the contestants.

Lopez and Anthony were married in June 2004 at Lopez's Beverly Hills home. The wedding was a major surprise in the entertainment world, given the fact that J.Lo had ended her highly publicized relationship with Ben Affleck only 18 months before, and even more so for the family and friends who attended the casual ceremony, all of whom had been invited to attend under the guise of a summer party.

The two Latin superstars dated briefly in the '90s and remained friends in the years before their marriage. Anthony was previously married to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, while Lopez was wed to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd. Professionally, Anthony and Lopez have recorded a number of duets together and starred in and produced the feature film, "El Cantante."

Lopez and Anthony have two children together, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Lil Wayne Says He'd Retire To Be A Better Dad 'I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all,' Lil Wayne tells MTV News about his retirement from rap.

Too $hort tried calling it quits but is now working on his 19th album. Jay-Z's 2003 retirement lasted about three years before he returned to rap in 2006. And now Lil Wayne is talking about hanging up the mic. Will he actually do it?

During a radio interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez in March, the 28-year-old said he's walking away at 35. Then Weezy switched up, telling XXL that he would be "gone by 31." Now, Lil Tunechi, who dropped his Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape on Wednesday, tells MTV News that he isn't sure when exactly he will walk away from rap.

"I'm not sure; I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all," Wayne said referring to the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who finally handed the NFL his walking papers in January after years of talking about it. "I'm not gonna draw it all the way out the whole year: 'We wondering, is Wayne gonna do this?' But the honest answer is I don't know."

Wayne — who has already recorded eight solo albums, sold more than 10 million records and won four Grammy Awards — said he wants to focus less on making hits and more on his kids. His oldest daughter, Reginae, is a budding performer herself at age 12, and Weezy wants his little girl to eventually stunt like her daddy.

"I'm so settled in my life right now," he told us. "I have my kids; they're wonderful. My daughter has her career ahead of her now. I have to focus on that, and I have to put the same focus that I put in my career. ... I want to become a better father, I want to become a better man to my woman, and those things take time. and time takes away from this. So the honest answer to that [retirement] question is, I don't know. Maybe so."

Weezy's ninth solo album, Tha Carter IV is one of the year's most-anticipated LPs and is set to be released on August 29. Will it be his last? Fans have to wait and see.

DMX's Jail Time Extended Over Alleged Drug Violation Rapper will remain in Arizona state prison for at least another week.

It sounds like rapper DMX will have to wait at least another week to get his latest attempt at a career reboot off the ground. According to TMZ, the MC (born Earl Simmons) was ordered to stay in prison for another week after authorities allegedly caught him with drugs.

X, 40, has been housed at a state prison in Yuma, Arizona, since January, and according to the gossip site, he has broken a number of rules over the past month, including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, smoking in an unauthorized area, acting disrespectfully to the staff and engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct. Of the seven alleged disciplinary infractions since January, four have come since June 12, with two more in April for alleged drug possession and disorderly conduct, and another in January for unauthorized smoking.

Due to his latest infractions, the troubled rapper — who had been slated to be released Wednesday — will spend at least another week in prison, according to the Associated Press. His new release date is July 19. He was sent back to prison in December for a probation violation after an arrest in November for failing to check in with his probation officer.

Around December 20, X was reportedly transferred to a mental-health unit after the judge in his case described him as having an "undiagnosed mental condition," before ordering him back to prison for one year.

X's lawyer, Gary Jenkins, told MTV News that he is still looking into the alleged violations, but that the rapper's reported refusal to take a mandatory drug test did result in a seven-day hold that will delay his release until July 19. Jenkins said he did not yet have information about the alleged drug possession, but that he is hopeful his client will get the help he needs to work on his drug addiction issues when he is released. "I hope that this time he understands that his addiction can't be dealt with privately," Jenkins added.

The rapper's manager, Nakia Walker, said that after years of battling with the authorities and getting caught in a revolving door between his home and jail in the state, she senses that X wants to leave Arizona and get a fresh start. "Prison was never a place for Earl because he has a sickness," she said. "If he is medicated properly, he wouldn't have the need for drugs." Current plans call for X to drop his new single, "Y'all Don't Know," featuring Busta Rhymes, within the next two to three weeks.

Mzbel’s new single: Don’t Die On My Bonnet

Controversial hip life artist, Nana Akua Amoah known in Showbiz circles as Mzbel has revealed that she will soon be dropping her new single titled “Don’t Die On My Bonnet,”, a song she says was inspired by her recent encounter with police officers which resulted in a court action.

Mzbel whose lyrics and mode of dressing always stirs up controversy was in the news again for all the wrong reasons recently for allegedly assaulting a police officer and was put behind bars for three days.

The stories were conflicting; while some reports accused her of disrespecting the officer and trying to knock him down while other reports favoured the singer’s version that she had been deilberately accosted.

She was arraigned before court and was remanded into police custody but after an appeal filed by her lawyers and some pleading by executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), she was granted bail. The case resumes in August.

Mzbel, who was speaking to Jon Germain on Allo TiGO Saturday, disclosed that she was deeply traumatized by the ‘inhumane’ treatment the police gave her as well as saddened by the reaction of a section of the media to her plight.

The hip life artist says though she was not guilty of the charge leveled against her, she decided to plead so that things would calm down.

She said the police were already prejudiced in the case against her and told the court she strangled a trained officer and nearly choked him to death when that was not the case and questioned how an ordinary ‘tiny’ looking girl like her could strangle a trained officer to the point of death.

Mzbel narrated her three-day experience in the cells for three saying the police jubilated while physically and verbally assaulting her.“They escorted me to the ministries police station with six armed officers as if I were a terrorist,” she said.

She described herself as determined but “not so strong” and therefore appealed to the media to be sensitive when dealing with celebrities like her in order not to hurt their feelings.

She maintained that she still loves the police and even hugged and kissed a couple of them at a show in Accra recently.

The diva said her experience though bad, has opened her eyes to the plight of suspects in custody and has informed her decision to start a project to support them and revealed that she has begun sharing her proceeds with her former cell mates, providing them with food, provisions and other necessities.

Despite the terrible experience she is determined to put it behind her and move on with her life starting with the release of her new CD which will come out soon.

Mzbel also disclosed that she has a reality show in the works titled ‘Bell and the City’ will air very soon and asked her fans to keep faith with her adding that she will be flying to Germany in October for a series of shows.
