DMX Released From Jail 'It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel,' rapper's manager says in a statement announcing the release.

It took a week longer than he anticipated, thanks to some jailhouse violations, but DMX was released from an Arizona state jail in Yuma on Tuesday morning (July 19) after serving nearly eight months of a one-year sentence for probation violations.

A spokesperson for the rapper (born Earl Simmons) confirmed his release to MTV News and hinted that the end of X's latest stint behind bars will hopefully mark a new beginning for the troubled MC.

"Earl has so much more to offer the world," manager Nakia Walker said in a statement announcing X's release. "His latest project has been on hold for so long! It is now time for X to redefine the world of Hip-Hop with his highly anticipated album of inspirational, painful & street accredited rhymes. It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel."

"I spoke to my daughter, I just got off the phone with my wife," DMX told AllHipHop.com following his release. "I'm going to go see my daughter while the sun is up, then I'm going to be in the studio, man."

Though the Yonkers, New York, native's music career has been stalled out for much of the past eight years due to legal and drug issues, he has signed a label deal with UMMG (United Music & Media Group), and Walker has promised "extraordinary things happening from rapper DMX over the next couple months that include collaborations with major names in the music industry."

DMX was slated for release last week after serving seven months of his one-year sentence — including credit for 100 days behind bars while awaiting trial — but was held over for an extra week due to several minor infractions, including refusal to submit to a drug test and smoking in unauthorized areas.

The 'Best Rapper Alive' speaks for Obour and gave us five reasons why Obour should chair the MUSIGA seat.

He is an experienced musician- 12 yrs of active musicianship with 6award winning albums, working closely with musicians across all the genres(collaborating with gospel(Noble Nketiah) l, hip life(uncountable), highlife(A. B. Crentsil), reggae(Shahsha Marley, Rocky Dawuni) section men(Ackah Blay, Dela Botri, etc) choral music, popular music the list goes on.

He has produced other musicians, organized major events and has contributed in so many ways to the development of the music industry. Toured all over Ghana and the world with Ghana music.

A musician with this experience is fit to be the leader of MUSIGA
2. He is a visionary- Obour since his birth into the music industry has not ceased to amaze all industry players with the beautiful ideas and effective ways he implements them to fruition.

This can be seen in the numerous first of its kind projects he has executed. He was the first Ghanaian musician to win the World Bank Music for Development Award and the first hiplife musician to be presented with the GRAND MEDAL state honour for Music by the President of the Republic of Ghana. These two awards were in recognition of his efforts at using music to impact on National Development. 4. He is Young and Abreast with time - Obour's middle age make him the best person to close the gap between the old and younger musicians. MUSIGA under Obour will attract more young musicians who form more than 80% of musicians in Ghana.

5. He has Service Record - His long service to mother Ghana through his music in different ways shows his preparedness to serve. He has single handedly contributed so much to the respect accorded to musicians today through his road safety and Education Campaigns. He has also done service to the musicians union of Ghana where currently he resides as the national youth organizer.

Considering the above factors, I consider Obour as the best candidate for the position of President of MUSIGA. I encourage all delegates who will be voting to vote Obour for a new MUSIGA. A MUSIGA which will be attractive to all musicians and lucrative to practioners.

Beyonce Fired Dad Amid Accusations of Theft, Legal Documents Show

Beyonce's belief that her father Matthew Knowles stole money from her led to his being fired as her manager, according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.

The pop singer terminated Mathew Knowles -- who launched her career at a young age -- in March. At the time, she explained: "I've only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life, and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."

Mathew Knowles said at the time that the parting was a mutual decision, claiming he was choosing to focus more on the gospel artists he represents.

But now, in legal papers he recently filed, Mathew Knowles claims that Live Nation Entertainment made false claims about him to his daughter in the hopes of coming aboard her 2011 world tour.

Live Nation told the singer that he "had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to," according to the legal documents.

Supporting those claims was Beyonce's law firm, who conducted an audit that concluded Mathew Knowles had stolen money, but he denies the accusations and is asking a judge to take depositions from several Live Nation employees to determine how they arrived at their conclusions.

Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Split Couple have been married since 2004 and have 3-year-old twins together.

After seven years of what appeared to be wedded bliss, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have called it quits.

"We have decided to end our marriage," Lopez and Anthony revealed to People magazine via a joint statement. "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.

"It is a painful time for all involved," the statement continued, "and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

This news likely comes as a shock to their fans, as the seemingly happy couple were seen together frequently during the most recent season of "American Idol," on which Lopez served as a judge and Anthony appeared in the audience several times and as a mentor to the contestants.

Lopez and Anthony were married in June 2004 at Lopez's Beverly Hills home. The wedding was a major surprise in the entertainment world, given the fact that J.Lo had ended her highly publicized relationship with Ben Affleck only 18 months before, and even more so for the family and friends who attended the casual ceremony, all of whom had been invited to attend under the guise of a summer party.

The two Latin superstars dated briefly in the '90s and remained friends in the years before their marriage. Anthony was previously married to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, while Lopez was wed to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd. Professionally, Anthony and Lopez have recorded a number of duets together and starred in and produced the feature film, "El Cantante."

Lopez and Anthony have two children together, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Lil Wayne Says He'd Retire To Be A Better Dad 'I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all,' Lil Wayne tells MTV News about his retirement from rap.

Too $hort tried calling it quits but is now working on his 19th album. Jay-Z's 2003 retirement lasted about three years before he returned to rap in 2006. And now Lil Wayne is talking about hanging up the mic. Will he actually do it?

During a radio interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez in March, the 28-year-old said he's walking away at 35. Then Weezy switched up, telling XXL that he would be "gone by 31." Now, Lil Tunechi, who dropped his Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape on Wednesday, tells MTV News that he isn't sure when exactly he will walk away from rap.

"I'm not sure; I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all," Wayne said referring to the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who finally handed the NFL his walking papers in January after years of talking about it. "I'm not gonna draw it all the way out the whole year: 'We wondering, is Wayne gonna do this?' But the honest answer is I don't know."

Wayne — who has already recorded eight solo albums, sold more than 10 million records and won four Grammy Awards — said he wants to focus less on making hits and more on his kids. His oldest daughter, Reginae, is a budding performer herself at age 12, and Weezy wants his little girl to eventually stunt like her daddy.

"I'm so settled in my life right now," he told us. "I have my kids; they're wonderful. My daughter has her career ahead of her now. I have to focus on that, and I have to put the same focus that I put in my career. ... I want to become a better father, I want to become a better man to my woman, and those things take time. and time takes away from this. So the honest answer to that [retirement] question is, I don't know. Maybe so."

Weezy's ninth solo album, Tha Carter IV is one of the year's most-anticipated LPs and is set to be released on August 29. Will it be his last? Fans have to wait and see.

DMX's Jail Time Extended Over Alleged Drug Violation Rapper will remain in Arizona state prison for at least another week.

It sounds like rapper DMX will have to wait at least another week to get his latest attempt at a career reboot off the ground. According to TMZ, the MC (born Earl Simmons) was ordered to stay in prison for another week after authorities allegedly caught him with drugs.

X, 40, has been housed at a state prison in Yuma, Arizona, since January, and according to the gossip site, he has broken a number of rules over the past month, including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, smoking in an unauthorized area, acting disrespectfully to the staff and engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct. Of the seven alleged disciplinary infractions since January, four have come since June 12, with two more in April for alleged drug possession and disorderly conduct, and another in January for unauthorized smoking.

Due to his latest infractions, the troubled rapper — who had been slated to be released Wednesday — will spend at least another week in prison, according to the Associated Press. His new release date is July 19. He was sent back to prison in December for a probation violation after an arrest in November for failing to check in with his probation officer.

Around December 20, X was reportedly transferred to a mental-health unit after the judge in his case described him as having an "undiagnosed mental condition," before ordering him back to prison for one year.

X's lawyer, Gary Jenkins, told MTV News that he is still looking into the alleged violations, but that the rapper's reported refusal to take a mandatory drug test did result in a seven-day hold that will delay his release until July 19. Jenkins said he did not yet have information about the alleged drug possession, but that he is hopeful his client will get the help he needs to work on his drug addiction issues when he is released. "I hope that this time he understands that his addiction can't be dealt with privately," Jenkins added.

The rapper's manager, Nakia Walker, said that after years of battling with the authorities and getting caught in a revolving door between his home and jail in the state, she senses that X wants to leave Arizona and get a fresh start. "Prison was never a place for Earl because he has a sickness," she said. "If he is medicated properly, he wouldn't have the need for drugs." Current plans call for X to drop his new single, "Y'all Don't Know," featuring Busta Rhymes, within the next two to three weeks.

Mzbel’s new single: Don’t Die On My Bonnet

Controversial hip life artist, Nana Akua Amoah known in Showbiz circles as Mzbel has revealed that she will soon be dropping her new single titled “Don’t Die On My Bonnet,”, a song she says was inspired by her recent encounter with police officers which resulted in a court action.

Mzbel whose lyrics and mode of dressing always stirs up controversy was in the news again for all the wrong reasons recently for allegedly assaulting a police officer and was put behind bars for three days.

The stories were conflicting; while some reports accused her of disrespecting the officer and trying to knock him down while other reports favoured the singer’s version that she had been deilberately accosted.

She was arraigned before court and was remanded into police custody but after an appeal filed by her lawyers and some pleading by executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), she was granted bail. The case resumes in August.

Mzbel, who was speaking to Jon Germain on Allo TiGO Saturday, disclosed that she was deeply traumatized by the ‘inhumane’ treatment the police gave her as well as saddened by the reaction of a section of the media to her plight.

The hip life artist says though she was not guilty of the charge leveled against her, she decided to plead so that things would calm down.

She said the police were already prejudiced in the case against her and told the court she strangled a trained officer and nearly choked him to death when that was not the case and questioned how an ordinary ‘tiny’ looking girl like her could strangle a trained officer to the point of death.

Mzbel narrated her three-day experience in the cells for three saying the police jubilated while physically and verbally assaulting her.“They escorted me to the ministries police station with six armed officers as if I were a terrorist,” she said.

She described herself as determined but “not so strong” and therefore appealed to the media to be sensitive when dealing with celebrities like her in order not to hurt their feelings.

She maintained that she still loves the police and even hugged and kissed a couple of them at a show in Accra recently.

The diva said her experience though bad, has opened her eyes to the plight of suspects in custody and has informed her decision to start a project to support them and revealed that she has begun sharing her proceeds with her former cell mates, providing them with food, provisions and other necessities.

Despite the terrible experience she is determined to put it behind her and move on with her life starting with the release of her new CD which will come out soon.

Mzbel also disclosed that she has a reality show in the works titled ‘Bell and the City’ will air very soon and asked her fans to keep faith with her adding that she will be flying to Germany in October for a series of shows.

Rocky Dawuni rocks Fourth of July

God Bless the whole world; we need each other,' shouted international reggae star Rocky Dawuni to a crowd of about 5,000 people during the Fourth of July concert at Palisades Charter High School's football stadium.

Dawuni, a Pacific Palisades resident and the headliner for the pre-fireworks concert series, opened with an upbeat performance of 'My Love,' followed by 'This Is Reggae,' 'Wake the Town,' 'Walls Tumblin' Down,' 'Extraordinary Woman,' 'Jammin' Nation' and 'Afro Roots Vibration'.

Around the stage, people jumped up and down, clapping their hands to the beat and singing along to the uplifting music. Happy children sat atop a parent's shoulders, waving American flags.

Pleased with the turnout, Palisades resident Keith Turner, who has organized the concert before the fireworks show for the past four years, said, 'People are definitely making it a part of their tradition. Every year, we see more and more people packing up the barbeques early and coming down here to enjoy the music.

Connie Kail, an 18-year Palisades resident and reggae and world music lover who met Bob Marley in 1973, certainly had a great time: 'I loved Rocky and his group; they were terrific.' She received four passes to the concert for winning the Fourth of July dolphin-naming contest with her entry, 'Splash.'

In addition to Dawuni, Kail was also impressed with the UCLA Cello Quartet's heavy-metal performance of Apocalyptica's 'Hyperventilation' because of it's unique sound.

The group, (Chloe Knudsen-Robbins, Suji Kang, Eunice Heo and Phoebe Ping), played an eclectic selection of music, including Astor Piazzolla's 'La Muerte del Angel,' The Beatles' 'Eleanor Rigby,' Peter Schickele's 'Aria' and John Philip Sousa's 'Stars and Stripes Forever.'

The 34 Palisades High and Paul Revere Middle School band members delighted the crowd with classic Americana songs such as 'Fantasy on Yankee Doodle,' 'March of the Belgian Paratroopers,' 'At a Dixieland Jazz Funeral' and 'Heroes on Parade.'

Later, The House Band (John Nahra, Keith Turner, Doug Masterson, Sheldon Cohn and Andy Stewart) had concertgoers on their feet dancing to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' 'American Girl' (with a guest appearance by Rob Weber on the drums), The Move's 'California Man' and Chuck Berry's 'Back in the USA,' plus two original songs.

With huge grins, Paige Glover, 7, of Bel-Air, and Katie Gallagher, 7, of Beverly Hills held hands spinning in circles.

'We come every year for the parade, concert and fireworks show,' said Katie's mother Juli. 'There is nothing like it in Los Angeles. It feels like small-town America ' it's exactly what you want on the Fourth of July'.

Pacific Palisades residents Scott and Ruth Weston, who have been married for 21 years, boogied near the front of the stage.

'In college, Scott got a license plate that said 'Dance or Die,'' Ruth said, noting that the license plate is now on her car. 'It's kind of our motto'.

The Westons, who have lived in Pacific Palisades since 1995, decided to attend the concert for the first time this year. They are friends with members of The House Band, and the couple also wanted to see Dawuni and Set Theory, a band of Harvard-Westlake and Windward School graduates who are friends with their 18-year-old son.

Set Theory entertained with their own arrangement of 'When Johnny Comes Marching Home,' John Ellis' 'All up in the Aisles,' Paul Simon's 'Still Crazy After All These Years' and Duke Elton's 'Caravan.' The jazz band members include Jordan Bryan and Hank Adelman (Pacific Palisades residents), Isaac Wilson, Spencer Horstman, Nick Chuba and Gabriela Leslie.

When Bryan came off stage, he smiled, saying he had wanted to play at this venue since he attended his first concert there three years ago. 'It was awesome. I have never played in front of such a large crowd'.

At one point in the concert, Palisadian-Post Citizen of the Year Rich Wilken asked everyone to sit, so the veterans could stand and be saluted for their service. Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the U.S.A' played over the loud speakers, and when Greenwood reached the point in the song where he sang, 'and I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,' everyone in attendance rose.

For the last song of the night, Palisades Americanism Parade Association secretary Rob Weber and his daughter, Tamar, took the stage alongside Dawuni singing, 'This Land Is My Land'.

'It was a thrill,' Weber said afterwards. 'Rocky is a wonderful musician and person'.

Then came what everyone was waiting for: the fireworks display by Pyro-Spectaculars, with master blaster Venice Hartwell and powder monkeys Kendrick and Getty Hartwell ceremoniously setting off the first pyrotechnics.

Gucci Is Home From Jail

Gucci Mane is home- no for real this time. After a few false the “Freaky Gurl” rapper was freed from Fulton County Jail early Friday morning (July 8) his lawyer confirmed for RapFix. During the 4th of July weekend reports swirled that the Atlanta-based rapper was released from a three-month jail stint stemming from a probation violation, but that was not so. “Procedural holdups” delayed Gucci’s release, but today all of the legal drama is seemingly behind him.

“Gucci was released about 4:30 this morning from Fulton County Jail,” the rapper’s attorney told RapFix. “The Georgia Department of Corrections finally removed the hold they had on him very late last night and then processing or so probably took another eight hours by the time he was out of jail.”

The “hold” that Gucci’s lawyer refers to is an order that stated once the rapper was released from Fulton County that he was to be transferred to Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia. On Monday, Gucc’s lawyer Ashutosh Joshi told MTV News that he had an order from a Fulton County judge that would eventually remove the hold. It took a few days, but now Gucci Mane, who has now satisfied the conditions of his probation stemming from his 2005 aggravated assault case, is a free man.

First order of business is to party, after he tweeted “I’m back bitch gucci back bitch did u miss me or miss my raps bitch...” Gucci took to the social networking site to plug his welcome home party in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Welcome home!

We HAVE To Say Something About Bow Wow Being A Father

First of all, we have to congratulate Bow Wow after his recent revelation that he is a father! After much speculation, the rapper/actor took to his website Bow Wow Today to pen a letter to his fans revealing his secret: "I waited so long to tell y'all the truth because I was nervous on how y'all would look at me." Even though Bow Wow isn't "Lil" anymore (he's 24), many of his fans still think of him as just a kid, so kudos to him for being open and honest.

Second, we have to say that Bow Wow's secret-keeping skills are pretty impressive. We're definitely not the only ones who didn't see this announcement coming (as the entire internet is totally freaking out about it), and that speaks highly to Bow Wow's sense of privacy and respect for his family. Like, Bow Wow is probably the friend you want to tell about that lipstick you stole from the drug store when you were little or that hotel you snuck into when you were a teenager or that car full of all of your ex-boyfriend's tax records that you started on fire and drove into the ocean. Wait. Never mind.

Anyway, congrats to Bow Wow and his new(ish) family! Enjoy all the chocolate cigars you can handle, and best of luck throughout the joys of parenthood.

Eazzy looking for love

At 24 Ghana’s hottest hi-hop and R&B female artiste, Eazzy Baby is yet to grab a lover and she has told news-one she has now decided to look for a man to warm her bed at night.

Eazzy, popular for her two hit songs-‘Wengeze’ and ‘Bo Wonsem Ma Me’-said she has remained lonely for the past two years and concentrated on her music career. She said though she ahs dated before, she decided to take a long break to build her career before having another relationship.

She however fell short of explaining if not having a man in her life for the past two years meant that she had abstained from sex during the period. “Very soon, I will be two years in the industry.

That would be this July. So hopefully after my second year, I can give a chance to someone to start a relationship with me and possibly get married….I am single for now, Ha..Ha. I am not married, and not going out,” Eazzy revealed.

This is July, the month Eazzy set as a deadline to start looking for love, so he should have either started searching for her dream man or has already grabbed one. The artiste’s love life has attracted a lot of media reports as Ghanaian paparazzi speculated endlessly on who she might be dating.

There was a time she had to publicly deny that she was in a love relationship with Black Stars player Dede Ayew. She admitted they were the best of friends but denied they were having a love affair or romantic relationship.

“Oh Dede is one of my celebrity friends just like Tinny, Tic Tac or others,” Eazzy explained. There were reports that she got married to record label mate Richie, after pictures of their supposed wedding were released on the internet a couple of months ago. However, it turned to be photos of a music video the two were shooting together.

Speaking on her career, Eazzy said: “there is a new album coming up called ‘Zero’. We featured almost every artiste you can find in Ghana…Zero means Ziggy, Eazzy, Richie and O.J Blaq. We are the main squad for Lynx Entertainment, so we take our first initials to mean back to Zero meaning back to Ziggy, Eazzy, Richie and O.J”

She also added she was unhappy about losing label mates Asem, Irene and others: “Of course, I am not happy about it. I wish things had gone the other way round but then again we are trying very hard to cope. I like the fact that apart from the fact that they are not on the label anymore, they are still friends.

We still talk to each other. We still keep in touch and together on BB and when we see each other we are like a family. Yes working relationship is not going on anymore but we are still a family.”

Aside the Zero project coming from Lynx, Eazzy said she was personally coming out with a single and it would drop by December this year. She is also working on a collaboration project with Nigerian hip hop princess Mo’cheddah. “Hopefully this is going to be a stepping stone to invade Nigeria’s make dominated industry just like we have here in Ghana,” she said.

Eazzy wasn’t too happy about Ghana’s music industry. She said it wasn’t easy at all. “Trust me; it is when you are outside that you think everything is rosy and smooth. But there are a lot of ups and downs.

The system is funny and there is a lot shady stuff going on in it but somehow, one way or the other, with good management, it can get better. We are getting three but it is not easy,” she added. Eazzy is a Ga from Accra. She comes from a family of four-her younger brother, mother, dad and herself. She describes herself as a fun loving person.

“I am down to earth person. I have my own fun. I enjoy my own privacy and I also have passion for music,” she told News-one. One advantage Eazzy has over her contemporaries is her extraordinary ability to dance I addition to rapping and singing at the same time.

News-one’s checks revealed that after Mfantiman, Eazzy attended the Institute of Professional Studies in Ghana, before going to the Chartered Institute of Marketing in England.

Hey guys! I know I’ve been a bit quiet on the article writing front for a while now- I’ve just been extremely busy with the continuous behind-the-scenes work for GC, chasing up interviews and helping with editing. However, a few days ago, some of my girlfriends and myself engaged in an interest discussion, which I wanted to share with you guys.

One of my friends has recently found herself in an unfortunate predicament; she’s had a huge crush on a guy at work for approximately two months now. They would both check each other out, but neither had the guts to make the first move until about three weeks ago- the guy greeted my friend, and she used this as her cue to ask his name and begin the ‘intro chat’.

To cut a long story short, they agreed to meet up for a date- now this is where things get a bit complicated; my friend is the shy and retiring type so her idea of the perfect date isn’t exactly dinner and movies. Therefore, when the guy suggested that they just hang out at his house, she was happy and this managed to partially calm her nerves.

I know some of you guys may already be thinking that the guy wanted the first date to be at his house because he was after something straight from the jump. However, it wasn’t even like that- it seemed like he genuinely like her- the conversations they had on the phone during the days leading up to the date made my friend so happy; it seemed like a genuine and deep mutual attraction for each other (unless the guy was just a very good actor).

Fast forward to the day of the date and my friend goes to “hang out” with the guy at his house. Now I know my girl- she’s not an easy chick at all- like I said she’s the shy and retiring type and has only had two sexual partners at the age of 26. So I know that even though she was going to meet the guy at his house, it was not her intention to do anything with him.

My friend told me that after a few hours of talking, just laughing and kicking back, they began to make out but then the guy led her to the bedroom. At this point, it was obvious that he had sex on his mind but my friend still wasn’t comfortable about giving it to him- especially not on their first date.

After repeated “jokey” threats that he would rip her pants off, my friend gave in and had sex with him. In her own words to me, she thought if she hadn’t had sex with him then he would have stopped liking her and she really wanted the relationship to progress.

After that first date, it seemed things were going perfectly and they had another date within a week of the first (at his house again and this time my friend was willing to give it to him freely as she thought well they had already done it the first time so it was no big deal).

During the second date, (after they had ‘knocked boots’) she began to question certain aspects of his behaviour and this left her wondering whether they were on the same page or not; they went into town and she saw him checking out other girls (and making no attempt to hide this in the process).

When they got back to his house, his friend came round and he just left my friend sitting alone in his bedroom. After getting tired of waiting for what seemed like an eternity, she sent him a text from his bedroom (as she was too shy to go into the living room whilst his friend was there) telling him she wanted to leave. His reply was a mere and curt “k”.

After that date, the guy was off with my friend and now he doesn’t call her nor speak to her like he did when they see each other at work.

I know most of you will be thinking he just got what he wanted from my friend and now he’s bounced, but I really don’t think that’s the case. I work with both of them in the same building so I know the guy, and truth be told I genuinely don’t think it was his intention to use her.

In fact, as I said to my friend, I think he might have been testing her, and she failed miserably- by dropping her pants on the first date. I think although he wanted it, by my friend giving in, he lost respect for her- that’s my opinion at least.

I genuinely want to know what you guys think though- especially all the fellas- give us ladies some insight ad to what goes on in your messed up heads sometimes.
