DMX Released From Jail 'It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel,' rapper's manager says in a statement announcing the release.
It took a week longer than he anticipated, thanks to some jailhouse violations, but DMX was released from an Arizona state jail in Yuma on Tuesday morning (July 19) after serving nearly eight months of a one-year sentence for probation violations.
A spokesperson for the rapper (born Earl Simmons) confirmed his release to MTV News and hinted that the end of X's latest stint behind bars will hopefully mark a new beginning for the troubled MC.
"Earl has so much more to offer the world," manager Nakia Walker said in a statement announcing X's release. "His latest project has been on hold for so long! It is now time for X to redefine the world of Hip-Hop with his highly anticipated album of inspirational, painful & street accredited rhymes. It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel."
"I spoke to my daughter, I just got off the phone with my wife," DMX told AllHipHop.com following his release. "I'm going to go see my daughter while the sun is up, then I'm going to be in the studio, man."
Though the Yonkers, New York, native's music career has been stalled out for much of the past eight years due to legal and drug issues, he has signed a label deal with UMMG (United Music & Media Group), and Walker has promised "extraordinary things happening from rapper DMX over the next couple months that include collaborations with major names in the music industry."
DMX was slated for release last week after serving seven months of his one-year sentence — including credit for 100 days behind bars while awaiting trial — but was held over for an extra week due to several minor infractions, including refusal to submit to a drug test and smoking in unauthorized areas.

Okyeame Kwame gives 5 reasons why Obour should be the next MUSIGA president
The 'Best Rapper Alive' speaks for Obour and gave us five reasons why Obour should chair the MUSIGA seat.
He is an experienced musician- 12 yrs of active musicianship with 6award winning albums, working closely with musicians across all the genres(collaborating with gospel(Noble Nketiah) l, hip life(uncountable), highlife(A. B. Crentsil), reggae(Shahsha Marley, Rocky Dawuni) section men(Ackah Blay, Dela Botri, etc) choral music, popular music the list goes on.
He has produced other musicians, organized major events and has contributed in so many ways to the development of the music industry. Toured all over Ghana and the world with Ghana music.
A musician with this experience is fit to be the leader of MUSIGA
2. He is a visionary- Obour since his birth into the music industry has not ceased to amaze all industry players with the beautiful ideas and effective ways he implements them to fruition.
This can be seen in the numerous first of its kind projects he has executed. He was the first Ghanaian musician to win the World Bank Music for Development Award and the first hiplife musician to be presented with the GRAND MEDAL state honour for Music by the President of the Republic of Ghana. These two awards were in recognition of his efforts at using music to impact on National Development. Till date, his Tour Obour.Com remains among the top success stories of the music industry in Ghana.
3. He is Corporate- Obour understands this modern corporate world and will be the best person to represent the interests of musicians. He is among the few musicians who runs his own office and owns and manages other businesses aside music.
His noble image coupled with his university education makes him a befitting new face for the Musicians Union. He is already doing business with corporate Ghana and the government.
Due to his reliability, databank Foundation invested a $60,000 scholarship package to train him in leadership with the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN) in USA. The British council, an international organization appointed him as a Good will Ambassador for Climate Change in Africa.
4. He is Young and Abreast with time - Obour's middle age make him the best person to close the gap between the old and younger musicians. MUSIGA under Obour will attract more young musicians who form more than 80% of musicians in Ghana.
5. He has Service Record - His long service to mother Ghana through his music in different ways shows his preparedness to serve. He has single handedly contributed so much to the respect accorded to musicians today through his road safety and Education Campaigns. He has also done service to the musicians union of Ghana where currently he resides as the national youth organizer.
Considering the above factors, I consider Obour as the best candidate for the position of President of MUSIGA. I encourage all delegates who will be voting to vote Obour for a new MUSIGA. A MUSIGA which will be attractive to all musicians and lucrative to practioners.
Beyonce Fired Dad Amid Accusations of Theft, Legal Documents Show
Beyonce's belief that her father Matthew Knowles stole money from her led to his being fired as her manager, according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.
The pop singer terminated Mathew Knowles -- who launched her career at a young age -- in March. At the time, she explained: "I've only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life, and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."
Mathew Knowles said at the time that the parting was a mutual decision, claiming he was choosing to focus more on the gospel artists he represents.
But now, in legal papers he recently filed, Mathew Knowles claims that Live Nation Entertainment made false claims about him to his daughter in the hopes of coming aboard her 2011 world tour.
Live Nation told the singer that he "had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to," according to the legal documents.
Supporting those claims was Beyonce's law firm, who conducted an audit that concluded Mathew Knowles had stolen money, but he denies the accusations and is asking a judge to take depositions from several Live Nation employees to determine how they arrived at their conclusions.
Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Split Couple have been married since 2004 and have 3-year-old twins together.
After seven years of what appeared to be wedded bliss, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have called it quits.
"We have decided to end our marriage," Lopez and Anthony revealed to People magazine via a joint statement. "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.
"It is a painful time for all involved," the statement continued, "and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
This news likely comes as a shock to their fans, as the seemingly happy couple were seen together frequently during the most recent season of "American Idol," on which Lopez served as a judge and Anthony appeared in the audience several times and as a mentor to the contestants.
Lopez and Anthony were married in June 2004 at Lopez's Beverly Hills home. The wedding was a major surprise in the entertainment world, given the fact that J.Lo had ended her highly publicized relationship with Ben Affleck only 18 months before, and even more so for the family and friends who attended the casual ceremony, all of whom had been invited to attend under the guise of a summer party.
The two Latin superstars dated briefly in the '90s and remained friends in the years before their marriage. Anthony was previously married to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, while Lopez was wed to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd. Professionally, Anthony and Lopez have recorded a number of duets together and starred in and produced the feature film, "El Cantante."
Lopez and Anthony have two children together, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Lil Wayne Says He'd Retire To Be A Better Dad 'I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all,' Lil Wayne tells MTV News about his retirement from rap.
Too $hort tried calling it quits but is now working on his 19th album. Jay-Z's 2003 retirement lasted about three years before he returned to rap in 2006. And now Lil Wayne is talking about hanging up the mic. Will he actually do it?
During a radio interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez in March, the 28-year-old said he's walking away at 35. Then Weezy switched up, telling XXL that he would be "gone by 31." Now, Lil Tunechi, who dropped his Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape on Wednesday, tells MTV News that he isn't sure when exactly he will walk away from rap.
"I'm not sure; I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all," Wayne said referring to the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who finally handed the NFL his walking papers in January after years of talking about it. "I'm not gonna draw it all the way out the whole year: 'We wondering, is Wayne gonna do this?' But the honest answer is I don't know."
Wayne — who has already recorded eight solo albums, sold more than 10 million records and won four Grammy Awards — said he wants to focus less on making hits and more on his kids. His oldest daughter, Reginae, is a budding performer herself at age 12, and Weezy wants his little girl to eventually stunt like her daddy.
"I'm so settled in my life right now," he told us. "I have my kids; they're wonderful. My daughter has her career ahead of her now. I have to focus on that, and I have to put the same focus that I put in my career. ... I want to become a better father, I want to become a better man to my woman, and those things take time. and time takes away from this. So the honest answer to that [retirement] question is, I don't know. Maybe so."
Weezy's ninth solo album, Tha Carter IV is one of the year's most-anticipated LPs and is set to be released on August 29. Will it be his last? Fans have to wait and see.

DMX's Jail Time Extended Over Alleged Drug Violation Rapper will remain in Arizona state prison for at least another week.
It sounds like rapper DMX will have to wait at least another week to get his latest attempt at a career reboot off the ground. According to TMZ, the MC (born Earl Simmons) was ordered to stay in prison for another week after authorities allegedly caught him with drugs.
X, 40, has been housed at a state prison in Yuma, Arizona, since January, and according to the gossip site, he has broken a number of rules over the past month, including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, smoking in an unauthorized area, acting disrespectfully to the staff and engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct. Of the seven alleged disciplinary infractions since January, four have come since June 12, with two more in April for alleged drug possession and disorderly conduct, and another in January for unauthorized smoking.
Due to his latest infractions, the troubled rapper — who had been slated to be released Wednesday — will spend at least another week in prison, according to the Associated Press. His new release date is July 19. He was sent back to prison in December for a probation violation after an arrest in November for failing to check in with his probation officer.
Around December 20, X was reportedly transferred to a mental-health unit after the judge in his case described him as having an "undiagnosed mental condition," before ordering him back to prison for one year.
X's lawyer, Gary Jenkins, told MTV News that he is still looking into the alleged violations, but that the rapper's reported refusal to take a mandatory drug test did result in a seven-day hold that will delay his release until July 19. Jenkins said he did not yet have information about the alleged drug possession, but that he is hopeful his client will get the help he needs to work on his drug addiction issues when he is released. "I hope that this time he understands that his addiction can't be dealt with privately," Jenkins added.
The rapper's manager, Nakia Walker, said that after years of battling with the authorities and getting caught in a revolving door between his home and jail in the state, she senses that X wants to leave Arizona and get a fresh start. "Prison was never a place for Earl because he has a sickness," she said. "If he is medicated properly, he wouldn't have the need for drugs." Current plans call for X to drop his new single, "Y'all Don't Know," featuring Busta Rhymes, within the next two to three weeks.

Mzbel’s new single: Don’t Die On My Bonnet
Controversial hip life artist, Nana Akua Amoah known in Showbiz circles as Mzbel has revealed that she will soon be dropping her new single titled “Don’t Die On My Bonnet,”, a song she says was inspired by her recent encounter with police officers which resulted in a court action.
Mzbel whose lyrics and mode of dressing always stirs up controversy was in the news again for all the wrong reasons recently for allegedly assaulting a police officer and was put behind bars for three days.
The stories were conflicting; while some reports accused her of disrespecting the officer and trying to knock him down while other reports favoured the singer’s version that she had been deilberately accosted.
She was arraigned before court and was remanded into police custody but after an appeal filed by her lawyers and some pleading by executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), she was granted bail. The case resumes in August.
Mzbel, who was speaking to Jon Germain on Allo TiGO Saturday, disclosed that she was deeply traumatized by the ‘inhumane’ treatment the police gave her as well as saddened by the reaction of a section of the media to her plight.
The hip life artist says though she was not guilty of the charge leveled against her, she decided to plead so that things would calm down.
She said the police were already prejudiced in the case against her and told the court she strangled a trained officer and nearly choked him to death when that was not the case and questioned how an ordinary ‘tiny’ looking girl like her could strangle a trained officer to the point of death.
Mzbel narrated her three-day experience in the cells for three saying the police jubilated while physically and verbally assaulting her.“They escorted me to the ministries police station with six armed officers as if I were a terrorist,” she said.
She described herself as determined but “not so strong” and therefore appealed to the media to be sensitive when dealing with celebrities like her in order not to hurt their feelings.
She maintained that she still loves the police and even hugged and kissed a couple of them at a show in Accra recently.
The diva said her experience though bad, has opened her eyes to the plight of suspects in custody and has informed her decision to start a project to support them and revealed that she has begun sharing her proceeds with her former cell mates, providing them with food, provisions and other necessities.
Despite the terrible experience she is determined to put it behind her and move on with her life starting with the release of her new CD which will come out soon.
Mzbel also disclosed that she has a reality show in the works titled ‘Bell and the City’ will air very soon and asked her fans to keep faith with her adding that she will be flying to Germany in October for a series of shows.

Rocky Dawuni rocks Fourth of July
God Bless the whole world; we need each other,' shouted international reggae star Rocky Dawuni to a crowd of about 5,000 people during the Fourth of July concert at Palisades Charter High School's football stadium.
Dawuni, a Pacific Palisades resident and the headliner for the pre-fireworks concert series, opened with an upbeat performance of 'My Love,' followed by 'This Is Reggae,' 'Wake the Town,' 'Walls Tumblin' Down,' 'Extraordinary Woman,' 'Jammin' Nation' and 'Afro Roots Vibration'.
Around the stage, people jumped up and down, clapping their hands to the beat and singing along to the uplifting music. Happy children sat atop a parent's shoulders, waving American flags.
Pleased with the turnout, Palisades resident Keith Turner, who has organized the concert before the fireworks show for the past four years, said, 'People are definitely making it a part of their tradition. Every year, we see more and more people packing up the barbeques early and coming down here to enjoy the music.
Connie Kail, an 18-year Palisades resident and reggae and world music lover who met Bob Marley in 1973, certainly had a great time: 'I loved Rocky and his group; they were terrific.' She received four passes to the concert for winning the Fourth of July dolphin-naming contest with her entry, 'Splash.'
In addition to Dawuni, Kail was also impressed with the UCLA Cello Quartet's heavy-metal performance of Apocalyptica's 'Hyperventilation' because of it's unique sound.
The group, (Chloe Knudsen-Robbins, Suji Kang, Eunice Heo and Phoebe Ping), played an eclectic selection of music, including Astor Piazzolla's 'La Muerte del Angel,' The Beatles' 'Eleanor Rigby,' Peter Schickele's 'Aria' and John Philip Sousa's 'Stars and Stripes Forever.'
The 34 Palisades High and Paul Revere Middle School band members delighted the crowd with classic Americana songs such as 'Fantasy on Yankee Doodle,' 'March of the Belgian Paratroopers,' 'At a Dixieland Jazz Funeral' and 'Heroes on Parade.'
Later, The House Band (John Nahra, Keith Turner, Doug Masterson, Sheldon Cohn and Andy Stewart) had concertgoers on their feet dancing to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' 'American Girl' (with a guest appearance by Rob Weber on the drums), The Move's 'California Man' and Chuck Berry's 'Back in the USA,' plus two original songs.
With huge grins, Paige Glover, 7, of Bel-Air, and Katie Gallagher, 7, of Beverly Hills held hands spinning in circles.
'We come every year for the parade, concert and fireworks show,' said Katie's mother Juli. 'There is nothing like it in Los Angeles. It feels like small-town America ' it's exactly what you want on the Fourth of July'.
Pacific Palisades residents Scott and Ruth Weston, who have been married for 21 years, boogied near the front of the stage.
'In college, Scott got a license plate that said 'Dance or Die,'' Ruth said, noting that the license plate is now on her car. 'It's kind of our motto'.
The Westons, who have lived in Pacific Palisades since 1995, decided to attend the concert for the first time this year. They are friends with members of The House Band, and the couple also wanted to see Dawuni and Set Theory, a band of Harvard-Westlake and Windward School graduates who are friends with their 18-year-old son.
Set Theory entertained with their own arrangement of 'When Johnny Comes Marching Home,' John Ellis' 'All up in the Aisles,' Paul Simon's 'Still Crazy After All These Years' and Duke Elton's 'Caravan.' The jazz band members include Jordan Bryan and Hank Adelman (Pacific Palisades residents), Isaac Wilson, Spencer Horstman, Nick Chuba and Gabriela Leslie.
When Bryan came off stage, he smiled, saying he had wanted to play at this venue since he attended his first concert there three years ago. 'It was awesome. I have never played in front of such a large crowd'.
At one point in the concert, Palisadian-Post Citizen of the Year Rich Wilken asked everyone to sit, so the veterans could stand and be saluted for their service. Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the U.S.A' played over the loud speakers, and when Greenwood reached the point in the song where he sang, 'and I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,' everyone in attendance rose.
For the last song of the night, Palisades Americanism Parade Association secretary Rob Weber and his daughter, Tamar, took the stage alongside Dawuni singing, 'This Land Is My Land'.
'It was a thrill,' Weber said afterwards. 'Rocky is a wonderful musician and person'.
Then came what everyone was waiting for: the fireworks display by Pyro-Spectaculars, with master blaster Venice Hartwell and powder monkeys Kendrick and Getty Hartwell ceremoniously setting off the first pyrotechnics.

Gucci Is Home From Jail
Gucci Mane is home- no for real this time. After a few false the “Freaky Gurl” rapper was freed from Fulton County Jail early Friday morning (July 8) his lawyer confirmed for RapFix. During the 4th of July weekend reports swirled that the Atlanta-based rapper was released from a three-month jail stint stemming from a probation violation, but that was not so. “Procedural holdups” delayed Gucci’s release, but today all of the legal drama is seemingly behind him.
“Gucci was released about 4:30 this morning from Fulton County Jail,” the rapper’s attorney told RapFix. “The Georgia Department of Corrections finally removed the hold they had on him very late last night and then processing or so probably took another eight hours by the time he was out of jail.”
The “hold” that Gucci’s lawyer refers to is an order that stated once the rapper was released from Fulton County that he was to be transferred to Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia. On Monday, Gucc’s lawyer Ashutosh Joshi told MTV News that he had an order from a Fulton County judge that would eventually remove the hold. It took a few days, but now Gucci Mane, who has now satisfied the conditions of his probation stemming from his 2005 aggravated assault case, is a free man.
First order of business is to party, after he tweeted “I’m back bitch gucci back bitch did u miss me or miss my raps bitch...” Gucci took to the social networking site to plug his welcome home party in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Welcome home!
We HAVE To Say Something About Bow Wow Being A Father
First of all, we have to congratulate Bow Wow after his recent revelation that he is a father! After much speculation, the rapper/actor took to his website Bow Wow Today to pen a letter to his fans revealing his secret: "I waited so long to tell y'all the truth because I was nervous on how y'all would look at me." Even though Bow Wow isn't "Lil" anymore (he's 24), many of his fans still think of him as just a kid, so kudos to him for being open and honest.
Second, we have to say that Bow Wow's secret-keeping skills are pretty impressive. We're definitely not the only ones who didn't see this announcement coming (as the entire internet is totally freaking out about it), and that speaks highly to Bow Wow's sense of privacy and respect for his family. Like, Bow Wow is probably the friend you want to tell about that lipstick you stole from the drug store when you were little or that hotel you snuck into when you were a teenager or that car full of all of your ex-boyfriend's tax records that you started on fire and drove into the ocean. Wait. Never mind.
Anyway, congrats to Bow Wow and his new(ish) family! Enjoy all the chocolate cigars you can handle, and best of luck throughout the joys of parenthood.
Eazzy looking for love
At 24 Ghana’s hottest hi-hop and R&B female artiste, Eazzy Baby is yet to grab a lover and she has told news-one she has now decided to look for a man to warm her bed at night.
Eazzy, popular for her two hit songs-‘Wengeze’ and ‘Bo Wonsem Ma Me’-said she has remained lonely for the past two years and concentrated on her music career. She said though she ahs dated before, she decided to take a long break to build her career before having another relationship.
She however fell short of explaining if not having a man in her life for the past two years meant that she had abstained from sex during the period. “Very soon, I will be two years in the industry.
That would be this July. So hopefully after my second year, I can give a chance to someone to start a relationship with me and possibly get married….I am single for now, Ha..Ha. I am not married, and not going out,” Eazzy revealed.
This is July, the month Eazzy set as a deadline to start looking for love, so he should have either started searching for her dream man or has already grabbed one. The artiste’s love life has attracted a lot of media reports as Ghanaian paparazzi speculated endlessly on who she might be dating.
There was a time she had to publicly deny that she was in a love relationship with Black Stars player Dede Ayew. She admitted they were the best of friends but denied they were having a love affair or romantic relationship.
“Oh Dede is one of my celebrity friends just like Tinny, Tic Tac or others,” Eazzy explained. There were reports that she got married to record label mate Richie, after pictures of their supposed wedding were released on the internet a couple of months ago. However, it turned to be photos of a music video the two were shooting together.
Speaking on her career, Eazzy said: “there is a new album coming up called ‘Zero’. We featured almost every artiste you can find in Ghana…Zero means Ziggy, Eazzy, Richie and O.J Blaq. We are the main squad for Lynx Entertainment, so we take our first initials to mean back to Zero meaning back to Ziggy, Eazzy, Richie and O.J”
She also added she was unhappy about losing label mates Asem, Irene and others: “Of course, I am not happy about it. I wish things had gone the other way round but then again we are trying very hard to cope. I like the fact that apart from the fact that they are not on the label anymore, they are still friends.
We still talk to each other. We still keep in touch and together on BB and when we see each other we are like a family. Yes working relationship is not going on anymore but we are still a family.”
Aside the Zero project coming from Lynx, Eazzy said she was personally coming out with a single and it would drop by December this year. She is also working on a collaboration project with Nigerian hip hop princess Mo’cheddah. “Hopefully this is going to be a stepping stone to invade Nigeria’s make dominated industry just like we have here in Ghana,” she said.
Eazzy wasn’t too happy about Ghana’s music industry. She said it wasn’t easy at all. “Trust me; it is when you are outside that you think everything is rosy and smooth. But there are a lot of ups and downs.
The system is funny and there is a lot shady stuff going on in it but somehow, one way or the other, with good management, it can get better. We are getting three but it is not easy,” she added. Eazzy is a Ga from Accra. She comes from a family of four-her younger brother, mother, dad and herself. She describes herself as a fun loving person.
“I am down to earth person. I have my own fun. I enjoy my own privacy and I also have passion for music,” she told News-one. One advantage Eazzy has over her contemporaries is her extraordinary ability to dance I addition to rapping and singing at the same time.
News-one’s checks revealed that after Mfantiman, Eazzy attended the Institute of Professional Studies in Ghana, before going to the Chartered Institute of Marketing in England.
Must Read: How Soon Is Too Soon To Take Off Your Panties For A Man?
Hey guys! I know I’ve been a bit quiet on the article writing front for a while now- I’ve just been extremely busy with the continuous behind-the-scenes work for GC, chasing up interviews and helping with editing. However, a few days ago, some of my girlfriends and myself engaged in an interest discussion, which I wanted to share with you guys.
One of my friends has recently found herself in an unfortunate predicament; she’s had a huge crush on a guy at work for approximately two months now. They would both check each other out, but neither had the guts to make the first move until about three weeks ago- the guy greeted my friend, and she used this as her cue to ask his name and begin the ‘intro chat’.
To cut a long story short, they agreed to meet up for a date- now this is where things get a bit complicated; my friend is the shy and retiring type so her idea of the perfect date isn’t exactly dinner and movies. Therefore, when the guy suggested that they just hang out at his house, she was happy and this managed to partially calm her nerves.
I know some of you guys may already be thinking that the guy wanted the first date to be at his house because he was after something straight from the jump. However, it wasn’t even like that- it seemed like he genuinely like her- the conversations they had on the phone during the days leading up to the date made my friend so happy; it seemed like a genuine and deep mutual attraction for each other (unless the guy was just a very good actor).
Fast forward to the day of the date and my friend goes to “hang out” with the guy at his house. Now I know my girl- she’s not an easy chick at all- like I said she’s the shy and retiring type and has only had two sexual partners at the age of 26. So I know that even though she was going to meet the guy at his house, it was not her intention to do anything with him.
My friend told me that after a few hours of talking, just laughing and kicking back, they began to make out but then the guy led her to the bedroom. At this point, it was obvious that he had sex on his mind but my friend still wasn’t comfortable about giving it to him- especially not on their first date.
After repeated “jokey” threats that he would rip her pants off, my friend gave in and had sex with him. In her own words to me, she thought if she hadn’t had sex with him then he would have stopped liking her and she really wanted the relationship to progress.
After that first date, it seemed things were going perfectly and they had another date within a week of the first (at his house again and this time my friend was willing to give it to him freely as she thought well they had already done it the first time so it was no big deal).
During the second date, (after they had ‘knocked boots’) she began to question certain aspects of his behaviour and this left her wondering whether they were on the same page or not; they went into town and she saw him checking out other girls (and making no attempt to hide this in the process).
When they got back to his house, his friend came round and he just left my friend sitting alone in his bedroom. After getting tired of waiting for what seemed like an eternity, she sent him a text from his bedroom (as she was too shy to go into the living room whilst his friend was there) telling him she wanted to leave. His reply was a mere and curt “k”.
After that date, the guy was off with my friend and now he doesn’t call her nor speak to her like he did when they see each other at work.
I know most of you will be thinking he just got what he wanted from my friend and now he’s bounced, but I really don’t think that’s the case. I work with both of them in the same building so I know the guy, and truth be told I genuinely don’t think it was his intention to use her.
In fact, as I said to my friend, I think he might have been testing her, and she failed miserably- by dropping her pants on the first date. I think although he wanted it, by my friend giving in, he lost respect for her- that’s my opinion at least.
I genuinely want to know what you guys think though- especially all the fellas- give us ladies some insight ad to what goes on in your messed up heads sometimes.

YVONNE NELSON FINALLY APOLOGIZES TO FIPAG
Sexy Ghanaian Actress Yvonne Nelson, who was banned from acting in Ghana and Nigeria last year October for misconducting herself on set, whiles shooting “4play Reloaded”, has finally subdued herself and rendered an official apology to producer Abdul Sallam Mumuni of Venus Films Productions and the Film Regulatory Council.
After about 9 months of redundancy and absent from the silver screen, the actress has finally decided to swallow her pride and reconcile with the producer who brought her into the movie industry. In a letter dated 14th June 2011, addressed to the President of the Film Regulatory Council, Yvonne expressed sincere regret for her actions and apologized to producer Alhaji Abdul Sallam Mumuni, members and executives of Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) and the entire film community in Ghana. “I render an unqualified apology for any embarrassment that my conduct might have caused anybody. I promise such a behavior will not repeat itself again”, Yvonne’s letter stated.
In the initial stages when the issue of banning the actress came up, she quietly went to Abdul Sallam’s private residence to apologize but Abdul Sallam refused to accept her apology and asked her to organize a press conference or render a public apology on radio, TV or any other public platform before he will accept her apology but the tall actress refused.
Yvonne went to Akosombo where stakeholders in the movie industry met on the issue on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, days after news of her ban came into the media, with actor Majid Michel, Fred Nuamah, her manager among others to apologize on her behalf but that apology could not hold because Yvonne herself refused to apologize at that time.
It will be recalled that Peacefmonline.com broke the news last year that Yvonne has been bannned for one year because she went ‘mad’ on set and hurled invectives at virtually everybody including Abdul Salam, production manager Roger Quartey, some members of the cast and crew, because she was supposed to shoot a scene with Jackie Appiah, but Jackie had absented herself by seeking permission to attend a social event.
Jackie was billed to appear as a guest judge at Miss Malaika 2010 finals which was live on TV. Yvonne therefore refused to shoot the scene alone and even when Jackie was ready, she was still adamant.
Even though Yvonne had taken full payment for the role, she refused to shoot the rest of the scenes. This left Abdul Sallam no choice than to release the movie without Yvonne in that particular scene hence her ban but it is obvious now that the “Heart of Men” actress has regretted her actions.
Meanwhile, the Film Regulatory Council (FRC), Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Film Marketers, Distributors, Retailers and other stakeholders in the movie industry have confirmed that they have received Yvonne’s letter but they are yet to respond as to whether they will or will not accept her apology.
In an interview with Socrate Safo spokesperson for the FRC and FIPAG, he told Peacefmonline.com that they received the letter yesterday Thursday June 23, 2011 and they are yet to meet and decide on what they are going to do. “We have not met yet so I can’t tell now if she will be forgiven or not. We have to convey a meeting with everybody involved to take a decision”. Asked when their next meeting will come off, Socrate said he can’t tell now because they had their last meeting few days ago, before they received the letter.
Yvonne went on several fun trips to Nigeria, Europe, and America among other places to while away time until her ban is over. She did several things including her Glaucoma awareness project and also went into importation of wigs but it appears the actress is tired of travelling and she wants to come back to big screen.
Actors, Kofi Adjorlolo and Ekow Smith Asante also suffered a 24 months ban from acting for different issues but the FRC lifted their ban on Saturday May 28, 2011 after they apologized and promised not to repeat their actions.
Lil Wayne Turns Down Recording With Justin Bieber
Lil Wayne has Justin Bieber's best interest at heart. In fact, Wayne is such a good mentor to Biebs that he refuses to work with the teenage sensation in an effort to keep his untainted poster boy image squeaky clean.
For his part, Bieber has long been affiliated with the Young Money camp. Justin is close friends with YM member Lil Twist and just this past year was spotted out around town sporting the signature YMCMB sweatshirt leading many to believe he was the latest act to sign with the house of hits.
In his candid interview with XXL magazine Wayne elaborates on his relationship with the teenager and why he won't lace Mr. Bieber with a few of those platinum Carter bars.
"That's my little homie now," Wayne told reporter Shaheem Reid. "He texts me every night asking me to do [his] d-mn song. That's my n-gga, but I can't do it. Like I said, I don't want to f--k his sh-t up."
While Justin Bieber might not exactly be on top of Wayne's wish list another Justin is a collaboration the Cash Money rapper is looking to lock in before handing in his Carter IV album.
"But like I said, I want to work with Justin Timberlake" Wayne continued. "That boy got a voice; that boy can sing. He needs to come back right there on Tha Carter IV."

Fat Joes Sheds Pounds For New ‘Drop A Body’ Video
In the new Eif Rivera-directed video for the previously released “Drop A Body” track from Bronx veteran Fat Joe, the usually husky rapper has seemingly gone on a new healthy kick and shed his signature pounds that helped form his namesake. No longer a heavyweight, the newly svelte Joey Crack delivers some hard rhymes over an aggressive, horn-laced beat that is as chaotic as the visually dizzying video and sinister backdrops that accompany the song reportedly from his upcoming The Darkside Vol. II project.
Halfway through the video, Cooked Coke Crack switches up from the apocalyptic images and takes on Pusha T’s epic “My God” track and provides some visuals to go along with his freestyle of the same name. Less visually stirring than “Drop A Body,” this portion of the clip finds a much more subdued Fat Joe using the backdrop of darkened city streets, unfocused car lights in the distance and sweeping camera views of Joe glowering for the camera and ambling about.
Fans had plenty to say about Fat Joe’s latest clip and new slim look, especially on Twitter. “Yooo....i just seen Fat.....Slim Joe's video Drop A Body....insane,” remarked user @TracQaeda. User @ThroatChopU added, “I guess it's safe to say that Fat Joe literally dropped a body losing 75lbs showcased in the new vid.”
Comments on Fat Joe’s weight loss didn’t end there. “Hearing him rap as great as he does in this great, and seeing him as a Not-So-Fat Joe makes me wonder what could have been had Big Pun and Biggie survived,” observed user @thisisjohnbook. One fan also quipped that the song sounded similar to another New York giant’s track. “This Fat Joe "Drop a Body" song reminds me WAY TOO MUCH of that Hov song off blueprint 1 that just blaze did,” said user @MrPopularDemand.
It should be noted that Fat Joe is currently in Africa and has been for a few weeks now. Joey is no stranger to the continent, having rocked shows in the country of Nigeria and touring in South Africa with R&B crooner Akon.
Is it too soon to refer to the South Bronx bomber as Slim Joe now?
Ja Rule's Prison Sentence: What Led Up To It? Queens MC also announces he'll delay release of Pain is Love 2, which he'd hoped to drop before his two-year bid.
On Wednesday (June 8), Ja Rule turned himself in to begin serving a two-year sentence on a gun charge stemming from his 2007 arrest in New York City. Although some rappers have endured a sentence as a mere bump in their careers (Lil Wayne, for instance), Ja Rule's bid arrives almost seven years since his last official album, R.U.L.E., and just as his Pain Is Love 2 has been delayed.
Ja had initially planned to deliver PIL2 the day before starting his jail term, but according to his longtime collaborator 7 Aurelius, Rule postponed the release after deciding it hadn't been completed to his satisfaction.
"Me and Rule have to capture all the magic around us until he goes in, otherwise we are doing an injustice to his fans," 7 told MurderInc-Online.com. "For example, if we had stopped in April just to be able to turn it in to [Fontana/Universal] for a June 7 date, PIL2 would not be what it is now. They have acknowledged that because it's Ja Rule, they will give it a fast track release date once it is turned in and that would be digital and hard copy."
PIL2 is the sequel to Ja Rule's triple-platinum third album, Pain Is Love. The Grammy-nominated LP was crucial in transforming Ja Rule from hip-hop star to mainstream sensation, thanks to hit singles like 'Livin' It Up" and "Always On Time," featuring Ashanti. But Pain Is Love was released almost 10 years ago. Since then, Rule's turmoil, whether legal issues or a long-running feud with nemesis 50 Cent, has overshadowed his music. And because of that, it can be easy to forget that at one point, Ja was easily rap's #1 hit-maker. Here, we look back on the 'Clap Back" MCs journey since that fateful night when he got caught with a gun in his ride.
July 22, 2007: Ja Rule is arrested on a Sunday evening in N.Y.C. — coincidentally, so is Lil Wayne in a separate incident after the same show at the Beacon Theatre. Ja had joined Wayne onstage that night as a special guest but after being pulled over for speeding, police discovered a .40 caliber pistol in Rule's Maybach. The rapper was arraigned and released the next day on $150,000 bond.
September 23, 2009: Ja Rule and DMX see each other at VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" and embrace, squashing their beef. Years before, X had accused Ja of imitating his style in song and the latter responded in kind. No hard feelings.
September 2010: Ja Rule reveals in an XXL magazine/ MTV "Sucker Free" video interview that he has changed the name of his new album from Venni Vetti Vecci 2010 to The Renaissance Project. Ja plans to release the album before the start of his prison sentence.
December 13, 2010: Ja Rule reaches a plea deal with prosecutors in N.Y.C. that will have him serve two years for criminal possession of a weapon. The guilty plea stems from the July 2007 incident. Ja Rule is expected to be sentenced in February 2011.
January 3, 2011: Ja announces via Twitter that The Renaissance Project will be released before he checks into prison.
February 9, 2011: Due to an error in his presenting report, Ja Rule's sentencing gets pushed back, this time until March 9, when he will learn when he must surrender to authorities and begin serving his two-year sentence. That morning, Ja tweets that besides working on Renaissance, he is also working on Pain Is Love 2 with producer 7 Aurelius.
March 9, 2011: Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers extends Ja Rule's furlough until June 8, when he is scheduled to report to prison. The extra time is given so the rapper can settle a federal tax issue and also allows him to finish a new album.
March 22, 2011: Ja Rule pleads guilty to tax evasion for failing to pay taxes on more than $3 million in income in New Jersey. As part of a plea deal, Ja must pay more than $1 million in back taxes and fines, and the government dismissed two charges against him for failure to pay taxes on income in 2007 and 2008. His sentencing for the tax evasion is scheduled for June 13.
April 23, 2011: During the New York City stop of Diddy-Dirty Money's Coming Home Tour, opening act Lloyd brings out Ja Rule and Ashanti as surprise special guests. The former Murder Inc. running mates perform Ja's hit "Always On Time," before the MC debuts a new song called "Real Life Fantasy."
April 27, 2011: Ja Rule stops by "RapFix Live" and in a revealing interview with Sway, he gives insight into the trials and tribulations of his career and how he plans to make the best of his pending incarceration.
June 8, 2011: Ja Rule begins serving his sentence for attempted criminal possession of a weapon at an upstate New York correctional facility.
Ja Rule Turns Himself In As Tearful Family Looks On Rule accompanied by relatives in Manhattan courtroom before being led away to start two-year sentence.
Ja Rule appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday (June 8) afternoon and turned himself in to begin his two-year prison sentence on weapons possession charges.
Wearing a gray sweat suit, sunglasses and a somber look on his face, the 35-year-old MC (born Jeffrey Atkins) stood before a magistrate on the 13th floor of the criminal courts building in lower Manhattan and listened as he was formally sentenced to two years in prison in the wake of his guilty plea in December to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He was accompanied by his wife, associate Ron Robinson, lawyer Stacey Richman and various other family members as the sentence was read.
Moments after he was cuffed and led out of the courtroom, Rule shouted, "See y'all" to his family in the back of the courtroom. "We love you," they called back, as some burst into tears and Rule replied, "I love y'all too," before being escorted to detention.
Rule will spend up to two weeks at New York's Rikers Island jail before being transferred to a different correctional facility upstate. Rule's lawyer said she expected that with good behavior, the MC could be out in 18 to 20 months. The rapper is being jailed in connection with an arrest in July 2007 in which the Manhattan district attorney's office claimed police found a loaded semi-automatic .40-caliber Taurus handgun, with the serial number scratched off, hidden in the backseat of the MC's Maybach.
The arrest took place on the same night that Lil Wayne was arrested on a gun charge, which sent the "Lollipop" rapper to jail for eight months last year. (Rule had been among the featured special guests at a New York concert headlined by Wayne.)
Last month, Ja Rule sat with Sway on "RapFix Live" and expressed regret over his pending jail sentence. According to Rule, he feels as if he has let his wife and kids down.
"I'm disappointed," the multiplatinum rapper said. "I'm mad at myself." Rule spoke specifically about his 15-year-old daughter, Brittany, but expressed concern about his two sons as well. "My daughter, she's 15 right now," Rule explained. "These are her last couple of years. She's about to graduate from high school and she's going to college. She needs her father. My boys really need me right now, too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy f---ed up."
At Long Last Mzbel Has Been Granted Bail…
The Human Rights Court (Fast Track Division) on Wednesday admitted to bail Nana Ekua Amoah, aka Mzbel, a musician, and two others who allegedly assaulted and obstructed a police officer from executing his duty.
They were each granted bail in the sum of GH¢2,000 with a surety.
This was after one of their counsel, Mr Anthony Namoo, had put in a bail application before the Human Rights Court.
The Human Rights Court presided over by Mr Justice U.P. Dery in its ruling noted that the refusal of the lower court to grant the accused persons bail was an unlawful exercise of the court’s judicial discretion.
It entreated the lower court not to use bail as a form of punishment. On June 6, the Motor Court in Accra remanded into police custody Mzbel, Maxwell Mensah, a driver and Emmanuel Edem Nordzor, a student. They have denied the charges and they would re-appear at the lower court on June 10. Mzbel is being held for assaulting a police officer and obstructing him from executing his lawful duty.
Mensah is charged with unauthorised parking, causing road obstruction, resisting lawful arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Nordzor is charged with driving without a driving licence and obstructing a police officer from executing his duty.
The three lawyers who represented the accused persons prayed the court to admit their clients to bail since they were ready to attend court all the time.
They said their clients had fixed places of abode and would not abscond from the court’s jurisdiction. They were also ready to assist the police in their investigations.
The prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Dora Seiwaa, had told the lower court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Plange-Rhule that at about 1230 hours on June 4, the three accused persons were driving in a Mitsubishi 4×4 vehicle with registration number GR 9470-11 on the Kinbu Road.
Chief Inspector Seiwaa said Mensah parked the vehicle on the shoulder of the road at Tudu while Nordzor and Mzbel sat in the vehicle.
She said the act of Mensah impeded the flow of traffic and the Policeman on duty traced the source of the blockade to the vehicle being driven by Mensah. They found Nordzor sitting behind the steering wheel with the engine running.
The prosecutor said when Nordzor was quizzed by the Policeman why he parked the vehicle at that spot he replied that he was waiting for his friend.
The Policeman therefore asked Nordzor to move the vehicle to give way to other road users.
However, the manner in which Nordzor drove the vehicle gave him cause to suspect that Nordzor did not have a driving licence. The policeman therefore demanded his driving licence but he could not produce.
The prosecutor said during the interrogation, Mensah emerged and asked the Policeman to “clear off” because he (Mensah) was the driver and would move the vehicle.
She said Mensah reversed the vehicle towards the Policeman hitting his legs as a result of which he fell on the bonnet.
Chief Inspector Seiwaa said Mensah failed to stop despite shouts by bystanders and in his bid to throw the Policeman off drove in a zigzag manner.
She said a bullion van, which was trailing the accused persons, overtook them and crossed them at a spot near the Kinbu School where Mensah and Nordzor were overpowered and arrested.
The prosecutor said Mzbel who claimed ownership of the vehicle did not understand why her friends were being arrested and prevented their arrest.
She said in the process, Mzbel held the uniform and neck of Albert Drakpor, a policeman, and he had to be rescued by his colleagues.
The prosecutor said with the timely intervention of two armed police officers, the accused persons were taken away.

Mzbel’ Arrest Is A Lesson To Role Models – MUSIGA Boss
The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Mrs. Diana Hopeson says the arrest of one of its members should serve as a lesson to all particularly role models in the showbiz industry.
According to her, the detention of renowned musician, Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly called Mzbel, sends a strong signal to those in the industry who might want to disregard enforcers of law and order.
Mrs. Hopeson was speaking to Citi News after visiting the songstress who is serving a 5-day remand in police custody, for allegedly assaulting and obstructing a police officer from executing his duty.
The MUSIGA President is pleading for his colleague who is to reappear in Court on Friday June 10.
“When it comes to traffic offences, no one is perfect. Once a while, you find yourself at the end of the law. But when you do so, there is a way to go about it. So I was shocked that she has to be in police custody. When people get angry, they sometimes do all sort of things and I pray that we will be able to manage our anger in the heat of issues like this”.
“The Police are law enforcers as we are role models, so we are there for each other. So when things like this happen, we have to allow patience to have its own way. I believe one way or the other, patience was not applied to its fullest. Now that she has been reprimanded, it’s been a big lesson and so we are just praying that things will be done in a way such that, those of us who have learnt our lessons will not repeat such things” she noted.
Mzbel, Maxwell Mensah, a driver and Emmanuel Edem Nordzor, a student have pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
Mensah was charged for unauthorised parking, causing road obstruction, resisting lawful arrest and assaulting one Lumorvi Wonder, a police officer.
Nordzor was charged for driving without a driving licence and obstructing a police officer from executing his duty.
The three accused were denied bail despite a plea by their lawyers.
The Police say they will proceed with the prosecution as a warning to serve as a deterrent to other traffic offenders.

Ja Rule To Begin Prison Sentence Tomorrow
Rapper Ja Rule's time as a free man is winding down. With just under 24 hours to go, the Murder Inc. rapper is set to turn himself in tomorrow to begin a two year prison sentence at an upstate New York correctional facility. Last year the MC born Jeffery Atkins plead guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon charges following his arrest at a New York City concert dating back to 2007 when he performed alongside fellow rapper Lil Wayne. Weezy, who was also arrested that same night and brought up on similar charges served a one year sentence on Rikers Island after pleading guilty to the charges and was released back in November 2010.
Last month Ja Rule sat with Sway and expressed regret over his pending jail sentence. According to Rule he feels as if he let his wife and kids down.
"I'm disappointed," the multiplatinum rapper said. "I'm mad at myself."
Rule spoke specifically on his 15-year-old daughter Brittany, but expressed concern about his two sons as well. "My daughter, she's 15 right now," Rule explained. "These are her last couple of years. She's about to graduate from high school, and she's going to college. She needs her father. My boys really need me right now too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy f---ed up."
Still, despite his upcoming jail stint, Ja was remarkably upbeat and looked for the positive in the situation, hoping youngsters will use him as an example and leave guns alone. "This is something that's bad, but there's gotta be some good that comes out of it," he said. "Even if there are other kids that look at me and say, 'Let me put my burner down.' Even if it's that, then there is something learned from my mistakes."
His upcoming jail stay will mark the first that the former Murder Inc. star has been incarcerated, but he has already received advice from an old friend and reputed drug lord Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, who is currently serving life behind bars." I spoke to Preme two weeks ago," Ja said. "He let me know about my bid goin' in; how to bid. I never bidded, so you gotta know how to bid."
Plans for Rule's latest release, Pain Is Love 2, scheduled to drop today is apparently now on hold.
Wahala For Mzbel, She Is Remanded In Police Custody For 5 More Days By Court…Home Girl Is Locked Up!
The Mzbel and the Police Assault/Battery Saga is getting serious. If you have not been following the incident, click here to read.
Reports have it that, an Accra Motor Court has remanded the Hiplife star, her PA and driver to spend five more days in police custody for battering and assaulting a police officer.
Mzbel, her driver Maxwell Mensah and PA -Emmanuel Edem Nordzor (student) were all charged before the magistrate court presided over by Emmanuel Plange Brew on various motor traffic offences and battery/assault.
Maxwell Mensah the driver had four charges; unauthorized parking, causing road obstruction, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Nordzor, the PA Mzbel claimed had just jumped into the drivers seat whiles the car was parked with the driver having stepped outside was charged with driving a motor vehicle without licence.
Mzbel’s charges are; obstructing a police officer from executing a lawful duty and assaulting a police officer. The 3 pleaded not guilty to the various charges.
At the court, their lawyers tried to secure a bail for them but the prosecuting officer ‘Chief Inspector Seiwah’ was able to convince the Magistrate that, they should be ‘locked up’ until possibly the next hearing as their deliberate actions were major and could have even caused the death of the law enforcement officer.
Even though there seems to be two contracting facts as to what happened (one from the accused persons and other from the prosecutor), According to what I have gathered from Daily Guide, below are the facts the prosecutor presented to the court though it was denied by the accused persons’ lawyers….
On Saturday at about 12.30pm, a police MTTU officer on duty at the Tudu traffic light in Accra realized there was heavy traffic on a section of the road which obstructed the free flow of vehicles.
The officer, in his attempt to identify the cause, realized it was caused by a Mitsubishi 4×4 vehicle with registration number GR9470-11, driven by one Emmanuel Nordzor and subsequently requested to see his licence.
After the cop’s inquiry, Emmanuel hurriedly left the driver’s seat and handed the vehicle over to Maxwell Mensah who rudely asked the policeman to clear off from the road for them to pass.
But the policeman, who was not deterred by the conduct, insisted on seeing the licence of Emmanuel.
Maxwell then ignored his request, started the vehicle and hit the cop, who fell on the bonnet of the vehicle while he drove off, regardless of what happened to the policeman.
They then drove for a distance, with the policeman still clung dangerously to the bonnet, while eyewitnesses screamed at the horror of what was happening.
It took a private security van, with a policeman on board, to block the Mitsubishi on the main road to ensure they never escaped.
When the vehicle eventually stopped, Mzbel allegedly got out of the Mitsubishi, and yelled at the cop, claiming he had no right to cross their path.
She allegedly got physical and held the uniformed policeman by the neck in an attempt to strangle him, while pushing a clenched fist in his face; but onlookers rushed to the rescue of the policeman.
Reports said when Mzbel realized she had fallen foul of the law, she started wailing, and claimed she was assaulted by the policeman instead, but onlookers started hooting at her.
The vehicle and its occupants were therefore taken to the MTTU headquarters where the three were arrested and subsequently processed for court.
Have You Seen This: Sex In Big Brother Africa Amplified House….What A BIATCH!
I have stopped following BigBrother Africa because it is boring to me and I am not a fun of the direction it is taking. That explains why we are not posting much on it recently…
Scenes like the one below is what I intend to escape from and spare my readers from getting to know about them. Yes, I know that two adults having consensual sex is not a crime but when you do not know a person that much, CONDOM should be the first thing to think about before even the PINKISH PUCCI…
I am not sure if CONDOM was used but from the scene, I am more than convinced that non was used. What is Big Brother Africa teaching us today? Sex without protection when you know some just a month is good huh?
Anyway, the two in the video ‘Bhoke and Ernest’ were all evicted on Sunday. I guess they can take their cheap selves away and continue their unprotected intercourse outside without cameras watching…She is a ’REAL BIATCH’
Watch video here ....only 18+ please

First man ‘functionally cured’ of HIV
Since HIV was discovered 30 years ago this week, 30 million people have died from the disease, and it continues to spread at the rate of 7,000 people per day globally, the UN says.
There's not much good news when it comes to this devastating virus. But that is perhaps why the story of the man scientists call the "Berlin patient" is so remarkable and has generated so much excitement among the HIV advocacy community.
Timothy Ray Brown suffered from both leukemia and HIV when he received a bone marrow stem cell transplant in Berlin, Germany in 2007. The transplant came from a man who was immune to HIV, which scientists say about 1 percent of Caucasians are. (According to San Francisco's CBS affiliate, the trait may be passed down from ancestors who became immune to the plague centuries ago. This Wired story says it was more likely passed down from people who became immune to a smallpox-like disease.)
What happened next has stunned the dozens of scientists who are closely monitoring Brown: His HIV went away.
"He has no replicating virus and he isn't taking any medication. And he will now probably never have any problems with HIV," his doctor Gero Huetter told Reuters. Brown now lives in the Bay Area, and suffers from some mild neurological difficulties after the operation. "It makes me very happy," he says of the incredible cure.
The development of anti-retroviral drugs in the 1990s was the first sign of hope in the epidemic, transforming the disease from a sudden killer to a more manageable illness that could be lived with for decades. But still, the miraculous cocktail of drugs is expensive, costing $13 billion a year in developing countries alone, according to Reuters. That figure is expected to triple in 20 years--raising the worry that more sick people will not be able to afford treatment.
Although Brown's story is remarkable, scientists were quick to point out that bone marrow transplants can be fatal, and there's no way Brown's treatment could be applied to the 33.3 million people around the world living with HIV. The discovery does encourage "cure research," according to Dr. Jay Levy, who co-discovered HIV thirty years ago, something that many people did not even think was possible years ago.
Becca Arrested
Rebecca Acheampong popularly known as Becca was ‘arrested’ in Accra yesterday for traffic offences. Becca confirmed the incident when she spoke with Okay FM’s Abeiku Santana on ‘Ekwanso Dwodwo’s’ gossip segment ‘akekakeka’ (rumour mill) on Thursday.
The beautiful singer said “were I was supposed to pass, I did not see well so I negotiated a curve on a wrong side of the road”.
She continued “Yes I was arrested by female and male traffic wardens (Atta-Mills police) in blue outfits. I apologised, usually when you do something wrong you just have to apologise, I think you just do that and move on and that is exactly what I did”. Becca told Abeiku Santana Becca’s latest song ‘African woman’ is currently a major hit enjoyed by both the young and old in the country.
She came into the limelight with her single “you lie to” featuring Kwabena Kwabena.
Lil Wayne Wanted 'Unplugged' To Be 'Flawless' 'It's very intimate and they damn sure picked the right artist to do it,' Weezy says of bringing rap back to MTV series on June 12.
Is there anything Lil Wayne can't do? Weezy started out rapping as a youngster, but the self-proclaimed martian has since stepped into the realm of pop and rock, selling more than 10 million albums along the way. Weezy is well-rounded, for sure, and, according to him, that's what made him the perfect choice to bring hip-hop back to MTV's "Unplugged" series.
"It's very intimate and they damn sure picked the right artist to do it, because if you're not a full artist, you can't do that. You can't do an 'Unplugged,' " Lil Wayne told us after the taping last month of "MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged." "You have to be a full-circle artist. You have to have everything, because it's so intimate. And if there are any flaws, they will be spotted. So I suggest you be flawless."
The program, which is set to premiere across MTV2, MTV and MTV.com on Sunday, June 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, will feature Tunechi performing acoustic versions of select hits from his classic catalog. The show will be MTV's first televised hip-hop unplugged concert since Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill taped their respective specials in 2001 and will come 20 years after LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul appeared on the original "YO! Unplugged Rap." The special comes as Wayne and his Cash Money label are preparing to release the MC's ninth studio album, Tha Carter IV, on August 29.
"Lil Wayne is an amazing choice for 'Unplugged' as he is at hip-hop's forefront — leading a new generation of artists whose appeal spans across music genres and playlists," Amy Doyle, MTV's executive vice president of music and talent, said in a statement. "Lil Wayne's skills, influence, and catalog are a powerful addition to the legacy of artists who have rocked the 'Unplugged' stage."
MTV's "Unplugged" first debuted in 1989 and spotlighted artists like Eric Clapton, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, R.E.M., Jay-Z and Bob Dylan. Now, Lil Wayne will join the ranks of music's biggest and most iconic stars.
Ten Signs You’re In A Controlling Relationship!
When you meet a guy for the first time, it’s easy to mix up what you think of as affection for a controlling and domineering man. You may know that deep down there’s something not quite right and ignore his behaviour hoping he’ll get better or change but chances are he won’t. Relationship experts explain that
When people get hurt they vow not to get hurt again so they try and control their whole world. Some do it out of pride if they have a proud personality. Also people who grew up in an atmosphere of control tend to do the very thing they hate when they grow older and some people just choose to be controllers because it makes them feel powerful, although this is more likely to do with insecurity.
If you feel as if you are being controlled, being able to identify the behaviour is your first step to freedom:
1. Always By Your Side
If you are in a relationship where it seems that you have no time to yourself, chances are you have a controlling boyfriend. He never wants you to go anywhere without him. There is no more “girls night out” for you or spending time with your friends, unless he is with you. Doesn’t sound like a good time.
2.Does What He Likes
When you do go out, it is to an event that HE chooses. You may not feel like going to a movie, but it is what he wants to do, for example. Also, his turning down an offer to do what you would like is a key sign that he is not flexible. It often leaves the impression that he does not care about your interests. He may, or may not, but he is not supportive either way.
3. Do Things For Him
“Honey, go pick up some soda for me.” sounds like a genuine request for assistance. If your boyfriend is constantly asking you to run errands, without including you as the benefactor, this is another sign of the need to feel in control. Instead of “…pick up some soda for me.”, the request should be, “We’re out of soda. Can you go pick some up, please?”. Can you see the difference? WE are in need of soda, simply.
4. No Manners
In the previous example, the “please” was left out intentionally. Your boyfriend will not be polite. He will not say “thank you”, “you’re welcome”, “please” or even “excuse me” to you. It is because he is expecting you to comply with his requests. He also feels as if you should be thanking him for allowing you to do things for him.
5.Questions, Questions
When you can finally break through the chains, and find some free time for yourself, be prepared: your controlling boyfriend will interrogate you when you return. Putting himself in a “father figure” position will install more of a sense of control. Treating you like a child that went to the mall, prior to doing her homework, is the kind of humiliation in you he is trying to achieve.
6.No Questions, No Answers
Unlike the aforementioned subject, your boyfriend will come and go as he pleases, without answering to anyone – especially to you. If you try to question his whereabouts or activities, he will become defensive. The subject will immediately transfer from your asking, “where were you?” to his comeback remark about how you nag him too much, or something similar to that effect. He will ignore answering the question, and make you feel guilty for asking it. This is in hope that you will not do it again.
7. He’s Always Right
In an argument with a controlling personality, it is very difficult for him to accept defeat. The controlling boyfriend will get more defensive, change the subject, or bring up a past occurrence, when he was, indeed, correct, in order to prove his point with the issue at hand. He may not always be right, completely, but he is never wrong.
8. Can’t Buy Me Love
Fools gold has been around for centuries. However, a fool AND his gold have special meaning to the controlling boyfriend. He will buy you nice jewellery, take you to expensive restaurants and maybe even offer to pay a debt of yours. He will say it is because he loves you. Not true. He needs to feel superior to you. You now owe him, in his mind. Who is the fool? To him, you are.
9. You’re Worthless
Belittling your self-confidence can have very serious consequences. Making you feel as if you are worthless without him, the controlling boyfriend will prey on times that you may be stressed the most. If you have just lost a job, or if you are experiencing normal hormonal reactions, this is the time he will strike. He wants you to feel as if life is not worth living without him. It’s hard to believe, but his confidence level is actually lower than yours.
10. No Means No
This is the most upsetting trait that a controlling boyfriend can display. If he forces you to do things, against your will, he is not in love with you. Whether it is going to a baseball game, when you hate outdoor stadiums, or, even more harsh an act, makes you perform sexually against your will, he is NOT in love with you. Not showing you the courtesy to respect your wishes is not a behavior that goes away. This will continue as an abusive relationship, where you will be treated as an object, instead of a person.
Remember if you have a man that does most of these things above, the problem is with them! Don’t let their issues become yours or allow yourself to think it’s something you’re doing.
