YVONNE NELSON FINALLY APOLOGIZES TO FIPAG
Sexy Ghanaian Actress Yvonne Nelson, who was banned from acting in Ghana and Nigeria last year October for misconducting herself on set, whiles shooting “4play Reloaded”, has finally subdued herself and rendered an official apology to producer Abdul Sallam Mumuni of Venus Films Productions and the Film Regulatory Council.
After about 9 months of redundancy and absent from the silver screen, the actress has finally decided to swallow her pride and reconcile with the producer who brought her into the movie industry. In a letter dated 14th June 2011, addressed to the President of the Film Regulatory Council, Yvonne expressed sincere regret for her actions and apologized to producer Alhaji Abdul Sallam Mumuni, members and executives of Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) and the entire film community in Ghana. “I render an unqualified apology for any embarrassment that my conduct might have caused anybody. I promise such a behavior will not repeat itself again”, Yvonne’s letter stated.
In the initial stages when the issue of banning the actress came up, she quietly went to Abdul Sallam’s private residence to apologize but Abdul Sallam refused to accept her apology and asked her to organize a press conference or render a public apology on radio, TV or any other public platform before he will accept her apology but the tall actress refused.
Yvonne went to Akosombo where stakeholders in the movie industry met on the issue on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, days after news of her ban came into the media, with actor Majid Michel, Fred Nuamah, her manager among others to apologize on her behalf but that apology could not hold because Yvonne herself refused to apologize at that time.
It will be recalled that Peacefmonline.com broke the news last year that Yvonne has been bannned for one year because she went ‘mad’ on set and hurled invectives at virtually everybody including Abdul Salam, production manager Roger Quartey, some members of the cast and crew, because she was supposed to shoot a scene with Jackie Appiah, but Jackie had absented herself by seeking permission to attend a social event.
Jackie was billed to appear as a guest judge at Miss Malaika 2010 finals which was live on TV. Yvonne therefore refused to shoot the scene alone and even when Jackie was ready, she was still adamant.
Even though Yvonne had taken full payment for the role, she refused to shoot the rest of the scenes. This left Abdul Sallam no choice than to release the movie without Yvonne in that particular scene hence her ban but it is obvious now that the “Heart of Men” actress has regretted her actions.
Meanwhile, the Film Regulatory Council (FRC), Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Film Marketers, Distributors, Retailers and other stakeholders in the movie industry have confirmed that they have received Yvonne’s letter but they are yet to respond as to whether they will or will not accept her apology.
In an interview with Socrate Safo spokesperson for the FRC and FIPAG, he told Peacefmonline.com that they received the letter yesterday Thursday June 23, 2011 and they are yet to meet and decide on what they are going to do. “We have not met yet so I can’t tell now if she will be forgiven or not. We have to convey a meeting with everybody involved to take a decision”. Asked when their next meeting will come off, Socrate said he can’t tell now because they had their last meeting few days ago, before they received the letter.
Yvonne went on several fun trips to Nigeria, Europe, and America among other places to while away time until her ban is over. She did several things including her Glaucoma awareness project and also went into importation of wigs but it appears the actress is tired of travelling and she wants to come back to big screen.
Actors, Kofi Adjorlolo and Ekow Smith Asante also suffered a 24 months ban from acting for different issues but the FRC lifted their ban on Saturday May 28, 2011 after they apologized and promised not to repeat their actions.
Lil Wayne Turns Down Recording With Justin Bieber
Lil Wayne has Justin Bieber's best interest at heart. In fact, Wayne is such a good mentor to Biebs that he refuses to work with the teenage sensation in an effort to keep his untainted poster boy image squeaky clean.
For his part, Bieber has long been affiliated with the Young Money camp. Justin is close friends with YM member Lil Twist and just this past year was spotted out around town sporting the signature YMCMB sweatshirt leading many to believe he was the latest act to sign with the house of hits.
In his candid interview with XXL magazine Wayne elaborates on his relationship with the teenager and why he won't lace Mr. Bieber with a few of those platinum Carter bars.
"That's my little homie now," Wayne told reporter Shaheem Reid. "He texts me every night asking me to do [his] d-mn song. That's my n-gga, but I can't do it. Like I said, I don't want to f--k his sh-t up."
While Justin Bieber might not exactly be on top of Wayne's wish list another Justin is a collaboration the Cash Money rapper is looking to lock in before handing in his Carter IV album.
"But like I said, I want to work with Justin Timberlake" Wayne continued. "That boy got a voice; that boy can sing. He needs to come back right there on Tha Carter IV."

Fat Joes Sheds Pounds For New ‘Drop A Body’ Video
In the new Eif Rivera-directed video for the previously released “Drop A Body” track from Bronx veteran Fat Joe, the usually husky rapper has seemingly gone on a new healthy kick and shed his signature pounds that helped form his namesake. No longer a heavyweight, the newly svelte Joey Crack delivers some hard rhymes over an aggressive, horn-laced beat that is as chaotic as the visually dizzying video and sinister backdrops that accompany the song reportedly from his upcoming The Darkside Vol. II project.
Halfway through the video, Cooked Coke Crack switches up from the apocalyptic images and takes on Pusha T’s epic “My God” track and provides some visuals to go along with his freestyle of the same name. Less visually stirring than “Drop A Body,” this portion of the clip finds a much more subdued Fat Joe using the backdrop of darkened city streets, unfocused car lights in the distance and sweeping camera views of Joe glowering for the camera and ambling about.
Fans had plenty to say about Fat Joe’s latest clip and new slim look, especially on Twitter. “Yooo....i just seen Fat.....Slim Joe's video Drop A Body....insane,” remarked user @TracQaeda. User @ThroatChopU added, “I guess it's safe to say that Fat Joe literally dropped a body losing 75lbs showcased in the new vid.”
Comments on Fat Joe’s weight loss didn’t end there. “Hearing him rap as great as he does in this great, and seeing him as a Not-So-Fat Joe makes me wonder what could have been had Big Pun and Biggie survived,” observed user @thisisjohnbook. One fan also quipped that the song sounded similar to another New York giant’s track. “This Fat Joe "Drop a Body" song reminds me WAY TOO MUCH of that Hov song off blueprint 1 that just blaze did,” said user @MrPopularDemand.
It should be noted that Fat Joe is currently in Africa and has been for a few weeks now. Joey is no stranger to the continent, having rocked shows in the country of Nigeria and touring in South Africa with R&B crooner Akon.
Is it too soon to refer to the South Bronx bomber as Slim Joe now?
Ja Rule's Prison Sentence: What Led Up To It? Queens MC also announces he'll delay release of Pain is Love 2, which he'd hoped to drop before his two-year bid.
On Wednesday (June 8), Ja Rule turned himself in to begin serving a two-year sentence on a gun charge stemming from his 2007 arrest in New York City. Although some rappers have endured a sentence as a mere bump in their careers (Lil Wayne, for instance), Ja Rule's bid arrives almost seven years since his last official album, R.U.L.E., and just as his Pain Is Love 2 has been delayed.
Ja had initially planned to deliver PIL2 the day before starting his jail term, but according to his longtime collaborator 7 Aurelius, Rule postponed the release after deciding it hadn't been completed to his satisfaction.
"Me and Rule have to capture all the magic around us until he goes in, otherwise we are doing an injustice to his fans," 7 told MurderInc-Online.com. "For example, if we had stopped in April just to be able to turn it in to [Fontana/Universal] for a June 7 date, PIL2 would not be what it is now. They have acknowledged that because it's Ja Rule, they will give it a fast track release date once it is turned in and that would be digital and hard copy."
PIL2 is the sequel to Ja Rule's triple-platinum third album, Pain Is Love. The Grammy-nominated LP was crucial in transforming Ja Rule from hip-hop star to mainstream sensation, thanks to hit singles like 'Livin' It Up" and "Always On Time," featuring Ashanti. But Pain Is Love was released almost 10 years ago. Since then, Rule's turmoil, whether legal issues or a long-running feud with nemesis 50 Cent, has overshadowed his music. And because of that, it can be easy to forget that at one point, Ja was easily rap's #1 hit-maker. Here, we look back on the 'Clap Back" MCs journey since that fateful night when he got caught with a gun in his ride.
July 22, 2007: Ja Rule is arrested on a Sunday evening in N.Y.C. — coincidentally, so is Lil Wayne in a separate incident after the same show at the Beacon Theatre. Ja had joined Wayne onstage that night as a special guest but after being pulled over for speeding, police discovered a .40 caliber pistol in Rule's Maybach. The rapper was arraigned and released the next day on $150,000 bond.
September 23, 2009: Ja Rule and DMX see each other at VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" and embrace, squashing their beef. Years before, X had accused Ja of imitating his style in song and the latter responded in kind. No hard feelings.
September 2010: Ja Rule reveals in an XXL magazine/ MTV "Sucker Free" video interview that he has changed the name of his new album from Venni Vetti Vecci 2010 to The Renaissance Project. Ja plans to release the album before the start of his prison sentence.
December 13, 2010: Ja Rule reaches a plea deal with prosecutors in N.Y.C. that will have him serve two years for criminal possession of a weapon. The guilty plea stems from the July 2007 incident. Ja Rule is expected to be sentenced in February 2011.
January 3, 2011: Ja announces via Twitter that The Renaissance Project will be released before he checks into prison.
February 9, 2011: Due to an error in his presenting report, Ja Rule's sentencing gets pushed back, this time until March 9, when he will learn when he must surrender to authorities and begin serving his two-year sentence. That morning, Ja tweets that besides working on Renaissance, he is also working on Pain Is Love 2 with producer 7 Aurelius.
March 9, 2011: Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers extends Ja Rule's furlough until June 8, when he is scheduled to report to prison. The extra time is given so the rapper can settle a federal tax issue and also allows him to finish a new album.
March 22, 2011: Ja Rule pleads guilty to tax evasion for failing to pay taxes on more than $3 million in income in New Jersey. As part of a plea deal, Ja must pay more than $1 million in back taxes and fines, and the government dismissed two charges against him for failure to pay taxes on income in 2007 and 2008. His sentencing for the tax evasion is scheduled for June 13.
April 23, 2011: During the New York City stop of Diddy-Dirty Money's Coming Home Tour, opening act Lloyd brings out Ja Rule and Ashanti as surprise special guests. The former Murder Inc. running mates perform Ja's hit "Always On Time," before the MC debuts a new song called "Real Life Fantasy."
April 27, 2011: Ja Rule stops by "RapFix Live" and in a revealing interview with Sway, he gives insight into the trials and tribulations of his career and how he plans to make the best of his pending incarceration.
June 8, 2011: Ja Rule begins serving his sentence for attempted criminal possession of a weapon at an upstate New York correctional facility.
Ja Rule Turns Himself In As Tearful Family Looks On Rule accompanied by relatives in Manhattan courtroom before being led away to start two-year sentence.
Ja Rule appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday (June 8) afternoon and turned himself in to begin his two-year prison sentence on weapons possession charges.
Wearing a gray sweat suit, sunglasses and a somber look on his face, the 35-year-old MC (born Jeffrey Atkins) stood before a magistrate on the 13th floor of the criminal courts building in lower Manhattan and listened as he was formally sentenced to two years in prison in the wake of his guilty plea in December to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He was accompanied by his wife, associate Ron Robinson, lawyer Stacey Richman and various other family members as the sentence was read.
Moments after he was cuffed and led out of the courtroom, Rule shouted, "See y'all" to his family in the back of the courtroom. "We love you," they called back, as some burst into tears and Rule replied, "I love y'all too," before being escorted to detention.
Rule will spend up to two weeks at New York's Rikers Island jail before being transferred to a different correctional facility upstate. Rule's lawyer said she expected that with good behavior, the MC could be out in 18 to 20 months. The rapper is being jailed in connection with an arrest in July 2007 in which the Manhattan district attorney's office claimed police found a loaded semi-automatic .40-caliber Taurus handgun, with the serial number scratched off, hidden in the backseat of the MC's Maybach.
The arrest took place on the same night that Lil Wayne was arrested on a gun charge, which sent the "Lollipop" rapper to jail for eight months last year. (Rule had been among the featured special guests at a New York concert headlined by Wayne.)
Last month, Ja Rule sat with Sway on "RapFix Live" and expressed regret over his pending jail sentence. According to Rule, he feels as if he has let his wife and kids down.
"I'm disappointed," the multiplatinum rapper said. "I'm mad at myself." Rule spoke specifically about his 15-year-old daughter, Brittany, but expressed concern about his two sons as well. "My daughter, she's 15 right now," Rule explained. "These are her last couple of years. She's about to graduate from high school and she's going to college. She needs her father. My boys really need me right now, too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy f---ed up."
At Long Last Mzbel Has Been Granted Bail…
The Human Rights Court (Fast Track Division) on Wednesday admitted to bail Nana Ekua Amoah, aka Mzbel, a musician, and two others who allegedly assaulted and obstructed a police officer from executing his duty.
They were each granted bail in the sum of GH¢2,000 with a surety.
This was after one of their counsel, Mr Anthony Namoo, had put in a bail application before the Human Rights Court.
The Human Rights Court presided over by Mr Justice U.P. Dery in its ruling noted that the refusal of the lower court to grant the accused persons bail was an unlawful exercise of the court’s judicial discretion.
It entreated the lower court not to use bail as a form of punishment. On June 6, the Motor Court in Accra remanded into police custody Mzbel, Maxwell Mensah, a driver and Emmanuel Edem Nordzor, a student. They have denied the charges and they would re-appear at the lower court on June 10. Mzbel is being held for assaulting a police officer and obstructing him from executing his lawful duty.
Mensah is charged with unauthorised parking, causing road obstruction, resisting lawful arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Nordzor is charged with driving without a driving licence and obstructing a police officer from executing his duty.
The three lawyers who represented the accused persons prayed the court to admit their clients to bail since they were ready to attend court all the time.
They said their clients had fixed places of abode and would not abscond from the court’s jurisdiction. They were also ready to assist the police in their investigations.
The prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Dora Seiwaa, had told the lower court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Plange-Rhule that at about 1230 hours on June 4, the three accused persons were driving in a Mitsubishi 4×4 vehicle with registration number GR 9470-11 on the Kinbu Road.
Chief Inspector Seiwaa said Mensah parked the vehicle on the shoulder of the road at Tudu while Nordzor and Mzbel sat in the vehicle.
She said the act of Mensah impeded the flow of traffic and the Policeman on duty traced the source of the blockade to the vehicle being driven by Mensah. They found Nordzor sitting behind the steering wheel with the engine running.
The prosecutor said when Nordzor was quizzed by the Policeman why he parked the vehicle at that spot he replied that he was waiting for his friend.
The Policeman therefore asked Nordzor to move the vehicle to give way to other road users.
However, the manner in which Nordzor drove the vehicle gave him cause to suspect that Nordzor did not have a driving licence. The policeman therefore demanded his driving licence but he could not produce.
The prosecutor said during the interrogation, Mensah emerged and asked the Policeman to “clear off” because he (Mensah) was the driver and would move the vehicle.
She said Mensah reversed the vehicle towards the Policeman hitting his legs as a result of which he fell on the bonnet.
Chief Inspector Seiwaa said Mensah failed to stop despite shouts by bystanders and in his bid to throw the Policeman off drove in a zigzag manner.
She said a bullion van, which was trailing the accused persons, overtook them and crossed them at a spot near the Kinbu School where Mensah and Nordzor were overpowered and arrested.
The prosecutor said Mzbel who claimed ownership of the vehicle did not understand why her friends were being arrested and prevented their arrest.
She said in the process, Mzbel held the uniform and neck of Albert Drakpor, a policeman, and he had to be rescued by his colleagues.
The prosecutor said with the timely intervention of two armed police officers, the accused persons were taken away.

Mzbel’ Arrest Is A Lesson To Role Models – MUSIGA Boss
The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Mrs. Diana Hopeson says the arrest of one of its members should serve as a lesson to all particularly role models in the showbiz industry.
According to her, the detention of renowned musician, Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly called Mzbel, sends a strong signal to those in the industry who might want to disregard enforcers of law and order.
Mrs. Hopeson was speaking to Citi News after visiting the songstress who is serving a 5-day remand in police custody, for allegedly assaulting and obstructing a police officer from executing his duty.
The MUSIGA President is pleading for his colleague who is to reappear in Court on Friday June 10.
“When it comes to traffic offences, no one is perfect. Once a while, you find yourself at the end of the law. But when you do so, there is a way to go about it. So I was shocked that she has to be in police custody. When people get angry, they sometimes do all sort of things and I pray that we will be able to manage our anger in the heat of issues like this”.
“The Police are law enforcers as we are role models, so we are there for each other. So when things like this happen, we have to allow patience to have its own way. I believe one way or the other, patience was not applied to its fullest. Now that she has been reprimanded, it’s been a big lesson and so we are just praying that things will be done in a way such that, those of us who have learnt our lessons will not repeat such things” she noted.
Mzbel, Maxwell Mensah, a driver and Emmanuel Edem Nordzor, a student have pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
Mensah was charged for unauthorised parking, causing road obstruction, resisting lawful arrest and assaulting one Lumorvi Wonder, a police officer.
Nordzor was charged for driving without a driving licence and obstructing a police officer from executing his duty.
The three accused were denied bail despite a plea by their lawyers.
The Police say they will proceed with the prosecution as a warning to serve as a deterrent to other traffic offenders.

Ja Rule To Begin Prison Sentence Tomorrow
Rapper Ja Rule's time as a free man is winding down. With just under 24 hours to go, the Murder Inc. rapper is set to turn himself in tomorrow to begin a two year prison sentence at an upstate New York correctional facility. Last year the MC born Jeffery Atkins plead guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon charges following his arrest at a New York City concert dating back to 2007 when he performed alongside fellow rapper Lil Wayne. Weezy, who was also arrested that same night and brought up on similar charges served a one year sentence on Rikers Island after pleading guilty to the charges and was released back in November 2010.
Last month Ja Rule sat with Sway and expressed regret over his pending jail sentence. According to Rule he feels as if he let his wife and kids down.
"I'm disappointed," the multiplatinum rapper said. "I'm mad at myself."
Rule spoke specifically on his 15-year-old daughter Brittany, but expressed concern about his two sons as well. "My daughter, she's 15 right now," Rule explained. "These are her last couple of years. She's about to graduate from high school, and she's going to college. She needs her father. My boys really need me right now too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy f---ed up."
Still, despite his upcoming jail stint, Ja was remarkably upbeat and looked for the positive in the situation, hoping youngsters will use him as an example and leave guns alone. "This is something that's bad, but there's gotta be some good that comes out of it," he said. "Even if there are other kids that look at me and say, 'Let me put my burner down.' Even if it's that, then there is something learned from my mistakes."
His upcoming jail stay will mark the first that the former Murder Inc. star has been incarcerated, but he has already received advice from an old friend and reputed drug lord Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, who is currently serving life behind bars." I spoke to Preme two weeks ago," Ja said. "He let me know about my bid goin' in; how to bid. I never bidded, so you gotta know how to bid."
Plans for Rule's latest release, Pain Is Love 2, scheduled to drop today is apparently now on hold.
Wahala For Mzbel, She Is Remanded In Police Custody For 5 More Days By Court…Home Girl Is Locked Up!
The Mzbel and the Police Assault/Battery Saga is getting serious. If you have not been following the incident, click here to read.
Reports have it that, an Accra Motor Court has remanded the Hiplife star, her PA and driver to spend five more days in police custody for battering and assaulting a police officer.
Mzbel, her driver Maxwell Mensah and PA -Emmanuel Edem Nordzor (student) were all charged before the magistrate court presided over by Emmanuel Plange Brew on various motor traffic offences and battery/assault.
Maxwell Mensah the driver had four charges; unauthorized parking, causing road obstruction, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Nordzor, the PA Mzbel claimed had just jumped into the drivers seat whiles the car was parked with the driver having stepped outside was charged with driving a motor vehicle without licence.
Mzbel’s charges are; obstructing a police officer from executing a lawful duty and assaulting a police officer. The 3 pleaded not guilty to the various charges.
At the court, their lawyers tried to secure a bail for them but the prosecuting officer ‘Chief Inspector Seiwah’ was able to convince the Magistrate that, they should be ‘locked up’ until possibly the next hearing as their deliberate actions were major and could have even caused the death of the law enforcement officer.
Even though there seems to be two contracting facts as to what happened (one from the accused persons and other from the prosecutor), According to what I have gathered from Daily Guide, below are the facts the prosecutor presented to the court though it was denied by the accused persons’ lawyers….
On Saturday at about 12.30pm, a police MTTU officer on duty at the Tudu traffic light in Accra realized there was heavy traffic on a section of the road which obstructed the free flow of vehicles.
The officer, in his attempt to identify the cause, realized it was caused by a Mitsubishi 4×4 vehicle with registration number GR9470-11, driven by one Emmanuel Nordzor and subsequently requested to see his licence.
After the cop’s inquiry, Emmanuel hurriedly left the driver’s seat and handed the vehicle over to Maxwell Mensah who rudely asked the policeman to clear off from the road for them to pass.
But the policeman, who was not deterred by the conduct, insisted on seeing the licence of Emmanuel.
Maxwell then ignored his request, started the vehicle and hit the cop, who fell on the bonnet of the vehicle while he drove off, regardless of what happened to the policeman.
They then drove for a distance, with the policeman still clung dangerously to the bonnet, while eyewitnesses screamed at the horror of what was happening.
It took a private security van, with a policeman on board, to block the Mitsubishi on the main road to ensure they never escaped.
When the vehicle eventually stopped, Mzbel allegedly got out of the Mitsubishi, and yelled at the cop, claiming he had no right to cross their path.
She allegedly got physical and held the uniformed policeman by the neck in an attempt to strangle him, while pushing a clenched fist in his face; but onlookers rushed to the rescue of the policeman.
Reports said when Mzbel realized she had fallen foul of the law, she started wailing, and claimed she was assaulted by the policeman instead, but onlookers started hooting at her.
The vehicle and its occupants were therefore taken to the MTTU headquarters where the three were arrested and subsequently processed for court.
Have You Seen This: Sex In Big Brother Africa Amplified House….What A BIATCH!
I have stopped following BigBrother Africa because it is boring to me and I am not a fun of the direction it is taking. That explains why we are not posting much on it recently…
Scenes like the one below is what I intend to escape from and spare my readers from getting to know about them. Yes, I know that two adults having consensual sex is not a crime but when you do not know a person that much, CONDOM should be the first thing to think about before even the PINKISH PUCCI…
I am not sure if CONDOM was used but from the scene, I am more than convinced that non was used. What is Big Brother Africa teaching us today? Sex without protection when you know some just a month is good huh?
Anyway, the two in the video ‘Bhoke and Ernest’ were all evicted on Sunday. I guess they can take their cheap selves away and continue their unprotected intercourse outside without cameras watching…She is a ’REAL BIATCH’
Watch video here ....only 18+ please

First man ‘functionally cured’ of HIV
Since HIV was discovered 30 years ago this week, 30 million people have died from the disease, and it continues to spread at the rate of 7,000 people per day globally, the UN says.
There's not much good news when it comes to this devastating virus. But that is perhaps why the story of the man scientists call the "Berlin patient" is so remarkable and has generated so much excitement among the HIV advocacy community.
Timothy Ray Brown suffered from both leukemia and HIV when he received a bone marrow stem cell transplant in Berlin, Germany in 2007. The transplant came from a man who was immune to HIV, which scientists say about 1 percent of Caucasians are. (According to San Francisco's CBS affiliate, the trait may be passed down from ancestors who became immune to the plague centuries ago. This Wired story says it was more likely passed down from people who became immune to a smallpox-like disease.)
What happened next has stunned the dozens of scientists who are closely monitoring Brown: His HIV went away.
"He has no replicating virus and he isn't taking any medication. And he will now probably never have any problems with HIV," his doctor Gero Huetter told Reuters. Brown now lives in the Bay Area, and suffers from some mild neurological difficulties after the operation. "It makes me very happy," he says of the incredible cure.
The development of anti-retroviral drugs in the 1990s was the first sign of hope in the epidemic, transforming the disease from a sudden killer to a more manageable illness that could be lived with for decades. But still, the miraculous cocktail of drugs is expensive, costing $13 billion a year in developing countries alone, according to Reuters. That figure is expected to triple in 20 years--raising the worry that more sick people will not be able to afford treatment.
Although Brown's story is remarkable, scientists were quick to point out that bone marrow transplants can be fatal, and there's no way Brown's treatment could be applied to the 33.3 million people around the world living with HIV. The discovery does encourage "cure research," according to Dr. Jay Levy, who co-discovered HIV thirty years ago, something that many people did not even think was possible years ago.
Becca Arrested
Rebecca Acheampong popularly known as Becca was ‘arrested’ in Accra yesterday for traffic offences. Becca confirmed the incident when she spoke with Okay FM’s Abeiku Santana on ‘Ekwanso Dwodwo’s’ gossip segment ‘akekakeka’ (rumour mill) on Thursday.
The beautiful singer said “were I was supposed to pass, I did not see well so I negotiated a curve on a wrong side of the road”.
She continued “Yes I was arrested by female and male traffic wardens (Atta-Mills police) in blue outfits. I apologised, usually when you do something wrong you just have to apologise, I think you just do that and move on and that is exactly what I did”. Becca told Abeiku Santana Becca’s latest song ‘African woman’ is currently a major hit enjoyed by both the young and old in the country.
She came into the limelight with her single “you lie to” featuring Kwabena Kwabena.
Lil Wayne Wanted 'Unplugged' To Be 'Flawless' 'It's very intimate and they damn sure picked the right artist to do it,' Weezy says of bringing rap back to MTV series on June 12.
Is there anything Lil Wayne can't do? Weezy started out rapping as a youngster, but the self-proclaimed martian has since stepped into the realm of pop and rock, selling more than 10 million albums along the way. Weezy is well-rounded, for sure, and, according to him, that's what made him the perfect choice to bring hip-hop back to MTV's "Unplugged" series.
"It's very intimate and they damn sure picked the right artist to do it, because if you're not a full artist, you can't do that. You can't do an 'Unplugged,' " Lil Wayne told us after the taping last month of "MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged." "You have to be a full-circle artist. You have to have everything, because it's so intimate. And if there are any flaws, they will be spotted. So I suggest you be flawless."
The program, which is set to premiere across MTV2, MTV and MTV.com on Sunday, June 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, will feature Tunechi performing acoustic versions of select hits from his classic catalog. The show will be MTV's first televised hip-hop unplugged concert since Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill taped their respective specials in 2001 and will come 20 years after LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul appeared on the original "YO! Unplugged Rap." The special comes as Wayne and his Cash Money label are preparing to release the MC's ninth studio album, Tha Carter IV, on August 29.
"Lil Wayne is an amazing choice for 'Unplugged' as he is at hip-hop's forefront — leading a new generation of artists whose appeal spans across music genres and playlists," Amy Doyle, MTV's executive vice president of music and talent, said in a statement. "Lil Wayne's skills, influence, and catalog are a powerful addition to the legacy of artists who have rocked the 'Unplugged' stage."
MTV's "Unplugged" first debuted in 1989 and spotlighted artists like Eric Clapton, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, R.E.M., Jay-Z and Bob Dylan. Now, Lil Wayne will join the ranks of music's biggest and most iconic stars.
Ten Signs You’re In A Controlling Relationship!
When you meet a guy for the first time, it’s easy to mix up what you think of as affection for a controlling and domineering man. You may know that deep down there’s something not quite right and ignore his behaviour hoping he’ll get better or change but chances are he won’t. Relationship experts explain that
When people get hurt they vow not to get hurt again so they try and control their whole world. Some do it out of pride if they have a proud personality. Also people who grew up in an atmosphere of control tend to do the very thing they hate when they grow older and some people just choose to be controllers because it makes them feel powerful, although this is more likely to do with insecurity.
If you feel as if you are being controlled, being able to identify the behaviour is your first step to freedom:
1. Always By Your Side
If you are in a relationship where it seems that you have no time to yourself, chances are you have a controlling boyfriend. He never wants you to go anywhere without him. There is no more “girls night out” for you or spending time with your friends, unless he is with you. Doesn’t sound like a good time.
2.Does What He Likes
When you do go out, it is to an event that HE chooses. You may not feel like going to a movie, but it is what he wants to do, for example. Also, his turning down an offer to do what you would like is a key sign that he is not flexible. It often leaves the impression that he does not care about your interests. He may, or may not, but he is not supportive either way.
3. Do Things For Him
“Honey, go pick up some soda for me.” sounds like a genuine request for assistance. If your boyfriend is constantly asking you to run errands, without including you as the benefactor, this is another sign of the need to feel in control. Instead of “…pick up some soda for me.”, the request should be, “We’re out of soda. Can you go pick some up, please?”. Can you see the difference? WE are in need of soda, simply.
4. No Manners
In the previous example, the “please” was left out intentionally. Your boyfriend will not be polite. He will not say “thank you”, “you’re welcome”, “please” or even “excuse me” to you. It is because he is expecting you to comply with his requests. He also feels as if you should be thanking him for allowing you to do things for him.
5.Questions, Questions
When you can finally break through the chains, and find some free time for yourself, be prepared: your controlling boyfriend will interrogate you when you return. Putting himself in a “father figure” position will install more of a sense of control. Treating you like a child that went to the mall, prior to doing her homework, is the kind of humiliation in you he is trying to achieve.
6.No Questions, No Answers
Unlike the aforementioned subject, your boyfriend will come and go as he pleases, without answering to anyone – especially to you. If you try to question his whereabouts or activities, he will become defensive. The subject will immediately transfer from your asking, “where were you?” to his comeback remark about how you nag him too much, or something similar to that effect. He will ignore answering the question, and make you feel guilty for asking it. This is in hope that you will not do it again.
7. He’s Always Right
In an argument with a controlling personality, it is very difficult for him to accept defeat. The controlling boyfriend will get more defensive, change the subject, or bring up a past occurrence, when he was, indeed, correct, in order to prove his point with the issue at hand. He may not always be right, completely, but he is never wrong.
8. Can’t Buy Me Love
Fools gold has been around for centuries. However, a fool AND his gold have special meaning to the controlling boyfriend. He will buy you nice jewellery, take you to expensive restaurants and maybe even offer to pay a debt of yours. He will say it is because he loves you. Not true. He needs to feel superior to you. You now owe him, in his mind. Who is the fool? To him, you are.
9. You’re Worthless
Belittling your self-confidence can have very serious consequences. Making you feel as if you are worthless without him, the controlling boyfriend will prey on times that you may be stressed the most. If you have just lost a job, or if you are experiencing normal hormonal reactions, this is the time he will strike. He wants you to feel as if life is not worth living without him. It’s hard to believe, but his confidence level is actually lower than yours.
10. No Means No
This is the most upsetting trait that a controlling boyfriend can display. If he forces you to do things, against your will, he is not in love with you. Whether it is going to a baseball game, when you hate outdoor stadiums, or, even more harsh an act, makes you perform sexually against your will, he is NOT in love with you. Not showing you the courtesy to respect your wishes is not a behavior that goes away. This will continue as an abusive relationship, where you will be treated as an object, instead of a person.
Remember if you have a man that does most of these things above, the problem is with them! Don’t let their issues become yours or allow yourself to think it’s something you’re doing.

MZBEL BEAT POLICE OFFICER AND CLAIM I CANNOT BE TOUCH
Celebrated Ghanaian songstress Mzbel spent the weekend weeping in police cells and would this morning be processed for court. Mzbel, aged 31, and two other accomplices were arrested by officials of the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) for physically assaulting a uniformed policeman on official duty.
The musician and two others were reported to have deliberately run their Mitsubishi 4×4 vehicle with registration number GR 9470-11 into the policeman who fell on the bonnet of the vehicle They then speed off and drove for a distance, with the policeman still hooked dangerously on the bonnet while eyewitnesses screamed at the horror of what was happening.
Their vehicle was eventually forced to stop when it was crossed by a private security van. Police sources said when Mzbel got out of the Mitsubishi, she started yelling at the cop, claiming he had no right to cross their way. The musician got more physical and held the uniformed policeman by the neck in an attempt to strangle him while pushing a clenched fist in his face but onlookers rushed to the rescue of the policeman.
Reports said when Mzbel realized she had fallen foul of the law, she started wailing, claiming to have been assaulted by the policeman instead, but onlookers started hooting at her.
The vehicle and its occupants were therefore taken to the MTTU headquarters where the three were arrested for various offences and placed in custody to be processed for court this morning. Mzbel and her accomplices could face jail terms if found guilty.
According to police reports, Mzbel aka Nana Ekua Amoah, was in the vehicle alongside Emmanuel Paa Kwesi, 31 and Maxwell Mawuli, 32.
Reports also have it that when they got to the police station Mzbel insisted that she should be release to go as she cannot be touch.
Police reports said around midday last Saturday, a police MTTU officer on duty at the Tudu traffic light in Accra realized there was heavy traffic on a section of the road which obstructed the free flow of vehicles.
The officer, in his attempt to identify the cause, realized it was caused by a Mitsubishi 4×4 vehicle with registration number GR9470-11, driven by one Emmanuel Paa Kwesi. He therefore requested to see the driver’s license. Police sources disclosed that after the cop’s inquiry, the suspect hurriedly left the driver’s seat and handed over to Maxwell Mamuli who was reportedly rude to the policeman.
But the policeman, who was not deterred by the conduct, insisted on seeing the license of Emmanuel Paa Kwesi. Maxwell Mamuli ignored his request, started the vehicle and hit the cop who fell on the bonnet of the vehicle while Mamuli drove away at top speed, regardless of what happened to him. A private security van, with a policeman on board who witnessed the incident, also took a different direction and blocked the Mitsubishi on the main road to ensure they never escaped from the crime they had purportedly committed.
National MTTU Commander ACP Augwubutoge Awuni, who confirmed the arrest on Saturday, said Mzbel would spend the weekend in police detention at the Ministries Police Station while the rest would be held at the MTTU cells. He used the opportunity to caution music stars not to have the impression they were above the law and as such could abuse any person at will.
The MTTU Boss underscored the need for the citizenry to be law-abiding, irrespective of their status, reiterating that once someone went against, the security agency would go after such a person.

T-Pain Vows To Put Auto-Tone On Permanent Lock-Down
It's like Superman without his cape, or Flavor Flav without the giant clock. Run-DMC without their Adidas and Kangols, the SW1's without their berets and military gear or Lil Wayne without his braids.
Some things in hip-hop just don't go. Just don't tell T-Pain, because on Thursday (June 2) the "King of the Ringtone" vowed that he was putting up the Auto-Tune for good and never again using the voice-distorting studio trick that made him a Grammy winning superstar.
"I'm done with Auto-Tune," Teddy Pain said in a statement that surely made Jay-Z smile. "I vow right here, right now, to never use Auto-Tune again. I'm onto something that I think is bigger and better called The T-Pain Effect.”
Pain famously defended the use of the sound that became ubiquitous on everything from tunes by Lil Wayne to Rebecca Black and dancehall star Mavado over the past five years.
But now he says he's hooked up with the audio technology company iZotope on "Effect," which he did not describe, but which sounds like a new kind of vocal processing program. Pain's new album, rEVOLVEr is due out in the fall.
What do you think of T-Pain retiring his use of Auto-Tune? leave a comment below.
Rihanna Responds To Criticism Over 'Man Down' Video
Rihanna sure does know how to make an impact. The young Barbados beauty is under scrutiny yet again after the release of her "violent" video for the clip "Man Down." Parents across the board were angered and shocked at the video that features a young lady shooting a man at point blank range in retaliation for a sexual assault. Criticism from the video has garnered attention from the likes of the Parents Television Council.
Responding to the cavalcade of critics, Rihanna took a stance against the media noting her messages are a reflection of current day events.
"I'm a 23 year old rock star with NO KIDS! What's up with everybody wantin me to be a parent? I'm just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!" Rihanna wrote on Thursday. "Cuz we all know how difficult/embarrassing it is to communicate touchy subject matters to anyone especially our parents! And this is why! ... Cuz we turn the other cheek! U can't hide your kids from society, or they'll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD! ... The music industry isn't exactly Parents R Us! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! It's your job to make sure they don't turn out like US."
Rihanna's fans have also expressed their position in the aftermath of the video's premiere.
"People need to stop telling Rihanna how to be a "good" victim of sexual violence" tweeted user @jaclynf. "It's working my last nerve."
"If rihanna were to cut out a scene from from man down, it will only show that anything can happen to women and that they have to live with the shame like nothing happened" said R_cLYDe_N.
"I stan for @rihanna's Man Down video... Very powerful form of art and issues that realistically happen in society" supporter @Charley_Breezy added in.

'Twilight' Vs. 'Harry Potter': Who Will Win First 2011 MTV Movie Award? Plus: Jason Sudeikis goes inside nominated movies, Steven Spielberg presents a 'Super 8' exclusive and more Act 1 inside scoop!
In the last couple days leading up to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, we've been all about bringing fans as close to the awards-show action as possible.
The intrepid MTV News team working from the show's site in Universal City, California, has been privy to countless exclusive sneak peeks, like advance screenings of "Horrible Bosses," "The Help" and more during our Sneak Peek Week; the promise of an awesome "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" exclusive during the big show; and the very first look at "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."
If that isn't enough to get you to tune in Sunday, MTV News' Jim Cantiello tracked down the show's supervising producer, Jane Mun, to get inside info about what viewers can expect to see during the first act of the show.
"In Act 1, we have Jason Sudeikis, our host, going in and out of our movies, but I can't tell you what [exactly] that is, because that's a surprise that we have to keep," Mun teased. "You'll notice right here a name [Taylor Lautner] on this board," she added, gesturing to a large poster board covered in different-colored pieces of paper, each with names of people and events that will occur during the telecast.
"I can't spill the deets," Mun said when pressed about what the "Twilight" superstar will be doing onstage. Cantiello suggested that whatever Lautner does, it should be shirtless -- which Mun didn't confirm or deny.
"Then we have Jason come out and greet the room and our viewers to a really awesome monologue, " Mun continued, adding that she's alerted her censor team that they might have some extra work during Sudeikis' opener.
"I've already talked to the censors, and they are in for a treat," she said with a smile.
The first award of the night will be Best Male Performance, which pits supernatural studs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner ("The Twilight Saga: Eclipse") against each other and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1" star Daniel Radcliffe, Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network") and Zac Efron ("Charlie St. Cloud"). Who will come out on top?
"Then, we just announced [Thursday] morning, is going to be the exclusive sneak peek of 'Super 8,' " with director J.J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg and stars Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney presenting. "And that is our Act 1!"
Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV Pushed Back To August Rep confirms that album will drop on August 29, while DJ Khaled's newest is pushed to July 19.
Although Weezy gave his adoring public a new single "How to Love" last week, Lil Wayne fans will have to wait just a bit longer than expected for the Young Money head honcho's ninth studio album, Tha Carter IV. One of the New Orleans native's publicists confirmed to MTV News on Thursday (June 2) that the album is now due out on August 29.
This is certainly not the first time the highly anticipated album has been pushed back. With some reports stating that Wayne had been working on the fourth installment of his Carter series back in 2008, Young Money president Mack Maine once said that Wayne wanted to release his opus upon the day of his release from prison last year. Then, in March, on the first night of his I Am Still Music Tour, he announced that it would drop on May 16.
"It can come out tomorrow 'cause I'm so finished," Wayne told MTV News at the time. But in April, the date was again pushed back until June 21.
"He's still perfecting a few things, he's a perfectionist ... changing a few lines," Young Money president Mack Maine told us, hinting that they were waiting on some huge features to complete the album. "If you calculate all of that, by the time we would've finished mixing, we wouldn't have met the [original] due date to turn in the album."
Lil Wayne isn't alone in the pushback department either. DJ Khaled's fifth album and major label debut We The Best Forever (a collaborative effort between his We The Best Music Group imprint and Cash Money) was slated for a June 28 release but will instead see the light of day on July 19.

Oh My Gosh: “Mr Nobody” Shows His Darky Hairy Butt In A New Full Of Vulgar Ghanaian Movie “Hidden Passion”
I have seen and heard a lot out of the Ghana Movie Industry but this beats them all. The language used in the movie below is not only unbearable but absolutely disgusting.
What does Kalsume Sinare stand to gain by accepting such a role full of improper language?
And for “Mr Nobody”, I thought he will never follow the line of Majid Michel. I have lost it for him completely. Showing his dark butt will not make him the next super star to hit Hollywood.

THE REAL MOTIVE BEHIND THE SEIZURE OF “ATTA MORTUARY MAN 1 & 2”
Controversy in showbiz which normally brings about tension; is undoubtedly an element that can’t be wiped off the industry easily, or I should rather put will be impossible to do with, as it spices up every angle in showbiz. As long as people have diverse views and interests that contradict, controversy will never seize in the world of showbiz.
The latest media frenzy going on which was stirred by the movie ‘Atta Mortuary Man’ as a result of the publicity around the movie going through fast ‘transition’ as it has been suspended, seized by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) due to state interest and the production team ending up sending an apology letter to any institution which must have been offended.
The title of the movie ‘Atta Mortuary Man’; produced by Tiger Heart Productions and directed by Justice Adu, has the name ‘Atta’ in common with the President His Excellency John Atta Mills. This came about when the former President, made mention of a friend called Atta who works at the 37 military hospital mortuary while giving a speech at Tamale in 2010. Although it was made clear the former president was not referring to the President which was confirmed by finding the said Atta, this left memories in the head of Ghanaians. According to the makers of the film, the aim and plot of this movie was never intended to relate to the president whatsoever.
Various instances has been cited as the main reason why the movie couldn’t be allowed on air, after it came out that the cinematography Exhibition Board of Control claimed the movie did not go through all the needed inspection before its release added by alleged tax invasion by the producer the BNI accompanied by some ‘castle boys’ seized 13, 000 which was bound for the market.
The producer Eric Asante has come out to disclaim such accusations; saying the movie only delayed as a result of delayed decisions to be made on member increment. In order not to make people raise eyebrows the Deputy Minister of Information Baba Jamal came out to explain the sole reason why the BNI had to carry out such an action, quoting “though the film itself has been approved by the cinematography board but it’s posters and adverts have not yet been scrutinized”. And he made it clear that until that has been done the movie is in no way to be released.
Well, with the presidency nearing a massive election period this is not the time the ruling party would like to be in the media with wrong impressions or worst derogatory events relating to them. So in a nutshell they took this action to protect the image and reputation of the president and the presidency.
Tinny again!!!
The wait hasn’t been quite long, but Tinny has finally released a copy of his latest single to Ghana Music.com. The song's arrival could mean his long-delayed album is on the way.
Despite maintaining a low profile lately, Ga rapper Tinny is still hard at work, shuffling through studios.
The track is titled “Again,” which was produced by Ashes, Tinny delivers funny lyrics that can be sang by his fans easily.
Tinny’s upcoming album has been subject to multiple push backs, but 'Again' is definitely a good start.

Mother of 15 year old gay boy weeps
The mother of a 15 year old homosexual at Takoradi in the Western Region wept as she narrated the ordeal her son now goes through as a result of being sodomized by an adult who is now at large.
The woman (name withheld) told Asempa News her son started discharging liquid through his anus uncontrollably and at the hospital, the boy confessed to anal sex with another man.
She said the boy admitted that the man penetrated him through the anus twice, and on the first occasion he gave him GHS 200 but later collected the money and threatened to kill him if he reported the act.
The woman said the guy managed to lure her son with promises of gifts and he went for a second bout and that was when he started discharging the liquid from the anus.
She said there were no visible lacerations in the son’s anus but he was not able to control the flow of the liquid.
The woman said her son usually stayed out for long and whenever she sought explanation, her son told her he was at the internet café. She later found out that that was where he met his partner.
She said the son was now receiving medical treatment after which she planned to move him to another school because many people in the vicinity and his school know about the incident.
The woman therefore urged parents to keep an eye on their children who frequent internet cafes because it appeared most of the gays lure children with money and material things and pick them as partners.

According to London, one of her biggest gripes with the media are the reports that her love child with Wayne was a result of a one night stand.

Interview: Jackie Appiah Says ‘I’m Not Pregnant’
Spirited Ghanaian Star Actress ‘Jackie Appiah’ is one of the few celebrities who have a good empathy with the media. But for some time now, she has been missing in the media radar prompting the observers to ask questions as to her where about.
Her short absence from the media spotlight coincided with a rumour that the Star Actress was pregnant.
GhanaCelebrities.Com caught up with the actress considered by many as the best actress in the country in Weija, near Kosoa busily on location shooting to find out if indeed she is pregnant and also what has recently kept her away from the media.
Are you really pregnant? “No! I’m not pregnant? Are you the one who impregnated me?” the multiple award winner comically answered back with a question amidst laughter. Laughing uncontrollably, she said: “You are now here; I’m I pregnant or look pregnant?”
“I have no idea. I’m surprised why someone will think I’m pregnant. It’s not a bad thing if I’m pregnant but at the moment that’s a false rumour. When I’m pregnant I will tell them but now I’m not pregnant.”
“Maybe it’s because I have been away and they haven’t heard anything recently about me. I don’t know who came up or formulated that rumour. Of all the rumours - I’m surprised they are saying I’m pregnant. I was surprised when I heard it because I’m on set shooting now.”
The Ghana Movie Award 2010 Best Actress co-winner said that, at the right time, she will get pregnant.
“I have been out of town. I went on a tour to meet up with my fans in United States. I visited Hollywood then I got back to town after almost a month in the United States. I also went to Dublin to meet up with my fans. I returned to Ghana shortly.”
After returning to Ghana, the owners of UB Relaxer, Nouvelle Parfumerie Gandour took her to Turkey for sightseeing for being a good ambassador for their brand.
“I couldn’t make it to Cannes Film Festival because the day I arrived in Ghana was the same day they were leaving for France. I have been away for so long that, I missed my family and my son. So I couldn’t just leave them behind and travel again.”
She continued: “I also had work waiting for me in Ghana. So basically that’s why I couldn’t make it to France and why I’m not in the news. I’m also shooting now.”
Jackie like many others, after attending a show in the United States seized the opportunity to interact, mingle and party with hundreds of her fans at Atlanta Georgia and other parts of the United States.
In America, the star actress met lots of her fans in several Ghanaian communities. She also met Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and one of the celebrated American Hip Hop artiste; Redman.
She shared the same hotel with the former at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. She met the latter whiles shopping at the Louis Vinton shop in New York. They exchanged pleasantries and she took pictures with them.
On why she visited Hollywood, she said the C.E.O of Venus Films, Alhaji Sallam Mumuni tasked her to visit the movie powerhouse when she travels to the States. After getting the chance to attend an event in United States, she decided to visit places at the Universal Studios.
Whiles there, she visited several places including where the Body Guard movie was shot and also visited celebrity houses.
“I was impressed with making of movies. It made me appreciate the movie industry more. The effort and what people go through to shoot international movies. But my most interesting part was the making of movies and also seeing the 3D of King Kong.” She said.
Many actresses aim at starring in Hollywood movies, Jackie Appiah is not an exception. For her, it’s not necessarily about going to the movie powerhouse. She just wants to be part of any good production and hopes to get on a bigger screen.
She said “If God wants me to star in Hollywood movie then no problem. I don’t mind being here in Ghana. All I want us to do are good productions. If you are shooting in Ghana and you are using the same kind of equipments they use in Hollywood, then I’m fine with that.
It’s not necessarily going to Hollywood. It’s just at the end of the day, everybody will buy the movies and the movies can be viewed in Theatres worldwide. That’s my ambition. It’s not basically Hollywood.”
Jackie Appiah is impressed with that fact that, most of the movie producers in Ghana have started buying different types of lenses that are used in Hollywood. “I just want us to get in a bigger scale and my wish is to get on a bigger scale as well. We are using good cameras now, good lighting, we have good equipments. I have noticed that most of our producers have started buying types of lenses that they use in Hollywood.”
About her relationship with media, this is what she has to say “I don’t know my relationship with the media. I think you have to ask the media people but for me I smile to everybody. I never frown to anybody. I welcome everybody, media, fans, friends, family and colleagues at work. I smile and welcome everybody.”
Many people have castigated a cross section of the media for always favoring her and for only projecting positive things about her. But for her, it’s because she’s always happy and have a smile on her face. She said she’s approachable because she always has a smile on her face which charms the media professionals.
The never-in-a-bad-mood Actress said, she likes to crack jokes, making it easier for people to approach her and talk to her.
Last year, Jackie gave scholarship to two of the contestants at the maiden edition of TV3’s Talented Kids. Aside that, she always does her personal charity works that she doesn’t bring to the limelight.
She goes to various orphanage homes to donate stuff to them that she doesn’t bring to the limelight. If it’s necessary for her to invite journalists to any of her donations, she does not hesitate.
On her charity works, she said: “I don’t feel like talking about it. Sometimes I don’t like blowing my own horn. At the right time, yes when it’s needed for journalists to come around and observe but sometimes I love to drive there and give them money without announcing it. I don’t like to announce it most of the times.
Contrary to what people think, Jackie is fluent in Twi. Good script needs a good director to interpret it well to make a great movie. So before she accepts a script, she takes several things into consideration.
First, she must read the story and see what it entails before she can charge or accept to be part.
Aside, the story, Jackie takes into consideration the cast, the director, the costumier as well as the crew that she is going to work with. She explained why the considerations are so important to her:
“You have to know what you are going to do. You have to know the impact of what you are going to do. What if you charge peanuts and you are asked to step on glass, are going to do it? She asked.
“After knowing who is going to direct the movie. The next question is who is going to costume the cast and who is going to edit the movie. Cast and crew also come into consideration because I want a good movie to come out at the end of the day.
You can have a good story but a bad director and the movie won’t come out nicely, so all of these have to be taken into considerations.” Jackie said to wrap up the
“BOLINGO” MISUNDERSTOOD FOR SEX – STORMMY CRIES OUT
Music is one of the numerous forms of sending out messages these days and if done with the right “ingredient” can achieve a great deal of influence as it is a way of life on its own.
Caleb Osumanu musically known as Stormmy whose slogan is the bouncy baby boy has come out to explain the meaning of his term “BOLINGO” based on argument that came up during his interview with Mr. M host of Hot Sauce on Crystal TV.
The musician said: ‘in our music world we need to create terms for fans to be able to use as a means of communication hence that is what I did with the term ‘BOLINGO’. He also cited that in this modern day, people tend to create their own unique names which they use in calling after loved ones and people dear to them. So in order to relate with his fans out there he decided to bring out “BOLINGO”.
Mr. M Opposed the idea behind Bolingo as he said hearing the song clearly gives the listener a different meaning which he associated with sex. Stormmy however knew the misconception people had about the song saying even at a sister TV station they also claimed the word BOLINGO means sex, so they will not show the video and they are not showing it, even though “I am paying for the air time but in actual terms it is not”.
Resulting in getting exhausted, Stormy explained BOLINGO simply means “call someone” which is a popular Nigerian term used by a lot of Nigerians and he picked that up as a result of growing up with Nigerians. As such he decided to introduce the slang to Ghana.
Nelly’s Ex Associate Challenges Rapper to Lie Detector Test
In the aftermath of Nelly’s weekend Twitter spat with local St. Louis hip-hop promoter Loose Cannon S.L.I.M. [St.Louis.Is.Mine.], the rapper defended himself against allegations of cocaine and steroids use, as well as financial woes.
“First, if you believe Slim was my manager, then this is pointless anyway. Second, don't nothing go in this body but fish, chicken, turkey, protein, ROZAY, Ciroc, Remy and Budweiser! Third, I know some hoping that foreclosure statement is true, but I'm sorry, 'epic fail!' Anytime anyone in STL wanna match deeds or pinkslips HOLLA! #FACTS,” read a tweet from Nelly.
While the Twitter chatter has cooled between the two, BET.com caught up with L.C.S. to get clarification on the allegations he levied toward the multiplatinum-selling rapper. According to S.L.I.M., the war of words began after Nelly publically criticized a celebrity charity basketball game the promoter hosted last week. S.L.I.M.says he tried to keep the discussion between the two private, but Nelly went on a Twitter assault that sparked the feud.
"They acting like I started it, and I’m doing it for publicity, but this n---- is the one doing it for publicity,” S.L.I.M. says. “When is the last time Mediatakeout, SOHH.com, or any of them other sites talked about this n----? I don’t need that n---- for nothing. So for him to act like I’m trippin' off him or need him at the game and he wasn’t invited, that's when he went on his rant as a hater. So that's why I defended myself."
The party promoter who has hosted events with Nelly in the past said the rapper was the one spewing lies on Twitter and he issued a challenge for the “Country Grammar” rapper to take a lie detector test.
"This n---- tried to lie on me and said I was from Atlanta,” S.L.I.M. says. “Then he said I owe him some money. If you all want to know the truth, I have 100K for this n---- to take a lie detector test that I owe him money or that everything I said wasn’t true, except for the $14 part. I don’t know how much he owe [in foreclosure], but he’s f*cked up.”
Ready to let the issue go, S.L.I.M. sasy it was Nelly who continued to flame the fires in the dispute.
"I even backed up off it again, and you notice he came at me again two days later saying, ‘I just did 14 scholarships. This is how you put on for a city @LooseCannonSlim.’ And that’s when I said, ‘Now 48 laws of power—crush your enemies.’ Don’t make me show back-up 'cause I have e-mails and everything."
"Listen. Give that n---- a drug test. Tell him to do some [Manny] Pacquiao sh*t. I got 100 racks, but you got to test him today. Tell him we will put a 100K in an escrow account anything and have that n---- take a lie detector test and ask him did S.L.I.M. lie on you? Or I’ll take it. And if I fail it, I will give him [Nelly] 100K.”
As for the financial woes he says Nelly is experiencing, S.L.I.M. says they may be a result of the rapper’s frequent visits to a local St. Louis casino.
“It ain’t like what I’m saying is a secret, that mother------ out there losing his everything,” S.L.I.M. alleges. “And where he making money at? The last two records sucked.”
Ultimately, S.L.I.M. says despite Nelly’s worldwide fame, the rapper has a history of not showing love to his hometown peers. He believes that’s where the issue between them stems from.
“It’s some crab in the barrel sh--,” he says. “It’s not the first time he’s ever been in this situation. If you do your history on St. Louis, Google it, Nelly vs. Chingy, Nelly vs. Huey, Nelly vs. P-Dub, Nelly vs. Pretty Willie. I had switched over and started rapping and that’s when he started getting threatened because of my reputation at the crib [St. Louis] and his s--- ain’t right. History repeats itself.”
